  1. Just wondering if anyone can help me. I think my goldfish are getting lazy. They seem to by lying on the bottom of the tank all day. When you walk up to the tank they start swimming again like they are fine and want to come and say hello. They have been doing it for a little while now. they are feeding fine and theres nothing wrong with water. done water changes and still they just lie there. They are pretty big and have large tails so I wondered if they were just getting old and heavy. I have had them for 4 years and in that time they have grown huge compared to thier original size.
  2. Yea it definatley is black beard. I got slack with my goldfish tank and it totally consumed it then I basically cleaned out everything and scrubbed it off everything and it was gone for about 4 weeks now is starting to come back. Might try the flourish excel stuff this time
  3. They are just fake feathery 20cm aquaone plants. I havnt had much luck in the past with real plants so i like to have ones that dont grow.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Post some pics of your tank sometime. have fun

  7. Maybe another idea for future shows could be to have a stand for each club (if members were keen to man a stand) with pictures of members tanks etc. I attended the show from auckland and would have liked to pick up some info about the clubs but I have since got it from here. Maybe we could get more people joined up to clubs. Just an idea.
  8. haha thanks for the info. this whole fish thing is addictive. We had two tank but now have 4 with another three on the way. I have just joined the killiefish club so very keen to get some info. Just thought i would put the questions out there and get other peoples advice from experience.
  9. Hi everyone Just a few questions on Killifish as I was inspired by the killifish stand at the national show. I cant seem to find any info. Can they go in the same tank with each other? Also what size tank is recommemded and what is required eg, lights, heaters etc? Thanks
  10. First of all congratulations on all the wins. What is the proper name for a king killie as I am trying to find some more info on internet. Also if I was to get into killies where do I get them from? I have been told just to buy them from other members. I would also like some more info but will start a thread in the beginners corner as this one is about the fish show.
