  1. That sounds easy, but its not Due to the fact I thought I'd create lots of "hiding spots" while I was aquascaping The only way i'll be able to catch them is to remove all the liverock. Maybe I should just do that anyway, give the tank a bloody good syphoning and clean then do a new aquascape? Then put all fish into my hospital tank and treat them all?
  2. Tried to no avail. When the lights go out they all hide, and you cant see where they go More of the fish have spots today Going to try the UV Sterilizer way, catch the dirty buggers in the free floating stage. And i'm gunna syphon the crap outta the sand tonight, hopefully catch some of the little shits in there. Gunna weigh up whether or not its worth stressing the entire system this weekend by pulling all the corals and rock out to catch the fish. I think maybe consistancy & patience might be the better option. Unless someone knows of a medication that is safe for inverts? I haven't been able to find one without copper
  3. Well i've tried all night, but can't catch it. Might look sick, but it sure dont act sick as soon as it sees the net. Before it even hits the water all the fish are gone from sight. They all obviously remember it... and who said fish only have a 3 second memory?!??
  4. I will if I can catch it
  5. I think its best to try the move. The way it was looking this morning I dont think it would survive much longer in the main tank anyway, and if I can prevent the other fish from being compromised, then its worth removing it (if I can catch it) If I can't catch it (I dont want to kill it from the stress of trying to catch it so I wont try for long) then I'm just going to have to try my best to control it in the main display. I dont want to be moving any liverock, or chasing the thing around the tank with the net as this will cause the other fish to stress and could have them come down with the whitespot aswel Oh bugger, thinking about the above statement, maybe I shouldn't move it? Catch22 as u said Wasp :-?
  6. I am assuming that this new bout of whitespot would be the 2nd cycle. The BT has had brown spots the last few days which I also assume (after the conch gave me some info on it) were the burst whitespot cysts. My other fish seem fine. What I'm unsure about, is whether or not its worth hospitalising the BT. If I can be extremely vigilant and keep water params 100% under control, providing the BT survives, shouldn't the whitespot die out? Or will the BT forever catch whitespot due to its immune system being comprimised from the last cycle? So if I haven't made any sense, what I'm saying is, that from how I see it, the Blue Tang is the only fish which is keeping the whitespot alive as it is the only fish which is catching it, should I remove it to try and fix it, or will I successfully be able to get the immunity of the Blue Tang up high enough that it wont catch the next cycle?
  7. Cheers Wasp, Conch I will creep the salinity down to 1.022 tonight (Needs to be a couple of hours while I do this?)
  8. GahhhH!! So woke up this morning and my Blue Tang is COVERED in whitespot and is not happy (Wont leave its hiding rock). I dont think it'll make it through the day There must be something I've missed? I've fixed the temp fluxuations (Noted a 0.3 swing at most) I've kept stable salinity @ 1.025 I've fed well and included that seachem garlic product to the food (and witnessed the tang eating it) The cleaners have started cleaning (even if this doesn't do anything) Water Params are fine, No NH4, NO2 and 0.5 NO3 I haven't witnessed anything else that could be causing any stress Can anyone think of anything I've missed? Last night the Tang was out and happy, I thought I had beaten the whitespot but something has happened overnight
  9. I dont think i'm gunna be able to help myself, and will prob end up going in on Sat to get that bubble. Stupid Xmas, i could so easily just blow all my pay on corals/fish but I can't this month
  10. For some reason that reminds me of that episode of Wildboys, or was it Jackass, when Steve-O and Chris Pontius (Partyboy) go diving for sea cucumbers.... (If you haven't seen it, then it might not make much sense) Maybe the urchin has a thing for Marko? heheh BTW, I thought urchins ate Corals? Or are they normally fine and there are just some naughty ones?
  11. What else were you planning on keeping in the tank? 2 would be fine, but you'd want to get them at the same time as a pair otherwise it may end in tears when 1 kills the other
  12. I guess its possible, my clowns protect my Firefish from the Damsel haha
  13. I wouldn't think so marko, I think it would be safe to assume that the cleaners are going to clean any fish that'll go near them like they do in the wild. Doesn't nessersarily mean the fish is sick, its just that symbiotic relationship working. My cleaners have setup their cleaning station right next to my torch coral that my clowns live in
  14. I agree, well somewhat anyway, as I dont have an anemonie... I do have a torch coral that they are harassing tho! Was just interested about the cleaners as the clowns hang out in the same area as the cleaners, and theres never been any interest between them
  15. Well the singing seemed to work This morning I woke to find the larger one had molted and on further inspection, has the green on its belly Have also witnessed the Blue Tang, Yellow Tang and Starki Damsel all get a clean. Has anyone ever seen a clown be cleaned before? Or are they usually a bit different due to their slime coat?
  16. That pic was taken a number of weeks ago and i've changed it slightly now but they still point upwards Main reason for powerheads that way is to create surface aggitation to get the crap moving round and into the filterbox where iv'e got a filter wool setup collecting the crap along with the skimmer doing the rest. Theres also a 3rd powerhead coming out of the filterbox. The bowfront causes the current to mix quite violently, that and the cove setup makes it even worse and most of the corals don't like it. With them pointing up it still provides a nice current for them, but its not nasty like it could be. I wouldn't say my cyano is bad, not at all, but then again, its probably only early stages. In saying that tho, I had bugger all green hair algae. What algae I did have, my Yellow Tang took a liking to. Do you think I need to change 1 of the power head positions?
  17. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for the salt water to crap em out. I might have to look at creating a plug for each one so I can replace them easier lol
  18. They're facing down, but theres also the backdraft from them so its extracting heat aswel. If I lift up the front section of the cover u can feel the air circulating Its working bloody well too. Tank was at 26.9 after all day with the lights off (its usually 27.8) and once I turned the fans on, it dropped to 26 within 30 minutes
  19. None of the other fish go anywhere near them, so no not that i've seen
  20. Well its all go tonight. Damsel is as good as gold, fan install went well and works exceptionally well. Even possible to put the bulb back in that I removed, we'll see though. Even better is that I've witnessed my Blue Tang being cleaned by 1 of my cleaner shrimps, and my clowns have decided to host in my Torch Coral hahah! Few pics (Gotta tidy up wiring on fans, but nothing open til tomorrow now)
  21. What size T8's and T5's jsut outta interest?
  22. I'll post some pics after I've butchered something Whats the usual lighting requirements for LPS & Softies? Would be much easier to take a light out for these fans to go in hehe
  23. What if I sing to them? "I gave my love a chicken it had no bone........ Mmmmmm Chicken"
