  1. The same way humans would die from eating vegetables & meat??
  2. Mine eats anything that gets caught by it Are u talking bout an open brain when u say "brain"?
  3. Oh and tank temp is now 26 give or take 0.3 with the fans on a timer etc
  4. Were they urs originally?
  5. Ahh I'll ring John when he's in at 10. Wilson, were there any stars left? Damn keen on one or 2 of those
  6. Ok i'll get one of the nanostreams under the rocks next WC Speaking of nanostreams, the holding clip for my 6045 has snapped, and no amount of glueing/repairing seems to fix it for long. Anyone know where I can get replacement ones without having to buy a whole new unit?
  7. Running filterwool already. I'm not worried about how it looks, you cant see it unless u've got a torch Was just worried it would cause problems
  8. I've read it somewhere on one of the forums I think. Always thought it was a possibility if theres stuff under the sand decaying? Might wait til the whitespot has gone then redo it. Fish and inverts will be fine in the tank while i do it?
  9. Ok, so how bout another problem, say I decide to reaquascape anyway? It'll stir up crap. AFAIK, it could cause an increase in Nitrates, but is that it or are there other nasties that can be stirred up?
  10. That chch water joke is wearing pretty thin :-? Yeah I know its excess nutrients etc, I do plan on getting an RO unit after the silly season. Was just concerned it could cause problems down the track
  11. Well after all the tank inspecting with the whitespot and all, I've noticed quite a bit of crap (I'm guessing diatoms) on the sand inside the "caves" I guess you'd call it. (See Pic for idea of caves, theres heaps in the way i've set the rocks up) Since its inside the caves, I cant get my syphon in there. Question is, if I leave it, will it potentially become bad enough to cause a tank crash? I have been considering reaquascaping with the possibility of having to catch the sick fish, but didn't think i'd need to, but perhaps it may not be such a bad idea? Unless of course, the crap isn't going to be an issue? Cheers all
  12. Was that ur crabby bastard in his bottom tank?
  13. Excellent, Thank you again
  14. Cheers heaps Wasp If I notice my Corals sulking, should I perhaps move them to a hospital tank for a while?
  15. Probably too many, but i'd have to find a place for my liverock aswel which definatly wouldn't fit.
  16. Dixon, would love to, but unfortunatly most medications contain copper, which is fatal to inverts, so i'd end up losing all my corals, snails, shrimp etc
  17. Have PM'd Wasp I am tempted to change the aquascaping anyway as i'm finding it hard to find spots for coral with the cove setup. But if I could solve it without that then I can wait a while before I change everything.
  18. Ok so say I just catch the Tang, what about the others which have it?
  19. Wasp, yes it does look better in the avo. I'll get a pic of the tang tonight but it looks alot like this Whats got my panicking is that my Yellow Tang now has body spots, and i've noticed fin spots on my Firefish and Bicolour Blenny All are eating and I'm soaking brine shrimp in garlic for tonights feed. Ur right, its bloody horrible to watch and its getting somewhat upsetting The other thing that has me worried is that i'm fairly certain I can see the parasites in the substrate From what I've read, the longer I leave it, the worse its going to get as eventually it'll take over all the fish
  20. Whats the life cycle of the little bastards? 4 weeks? Just wondering how 7 fish are going to get on in a 70L tank for that period of time. Or would I be ok to leave the Damsel and Clowns in the main tank? (Neither are showing signs of the whitespot)
  21. Yeah bugger it, thats whats gunna happen! I didn't like the cove setup anyway Will my cleaner shrimp be ok to stay in the main tank? Thinking about it, it wouldn't take long. Take water from main tank, add to hospital tank, add a bit of live rock, then slowly drop the SG to 1.017 (or should it be lower?) I just hope my firefish doesn't decide that jumping is an option. Might have to put towels all round the tank so he doesn't end up on the hardwood floor and covered in fluff, poor little guy
