  1. I dont hold any hopes anymore, dont get me wrong, if he's swimming round in the tank when i get home, i'll be more than stoked... but thats just wishful thinking
  2. Yeah mine had 1 arm coil around it, but not in a way that was aggressive, more like it was grabbing it to try and sneak it away from the shrimp, who were watching intently to see if they could pinch it
  3. I just threw a bit of mussle into the tank in the area of the star... it grabbed it, but wasn't anything aggressive. If it is a fish eater, if I keep it fed, then it shouldn't need to hunt haha
  4. U two had any other issues with ur stars?
  5. I can't get near it so haven't been able to feed it anything, its always hiding (probably with a fat belly!) I've seen it on the move tho when I first got it. Didn't think it would be quick enuf to catch a fish, but never know I suppose being a night hunter
  6. I dont think tank jumping is possible with the panels on the tank. I guess theres a chance it got through the gap when the fan was off but its unlikely. If he did manage, the dog must've eaten him The brittlestar is 1 of the ones John had, that subsequently was from the same batch that Wilson & Sapphire ended up with thats been eating their coral... Makes me wonder if I'm the lucky one that got the fish eating one?
  7. Some good news, I've seen the brittlestar. Was a little concerned after the rock move that it may have got trapped. I know now this isn't the case.... still no sign of the blenny though. I think it might be time to accept that its not coming back
  8. 24 hours... still no sign Poor little guy, i'm so gutted. My first loss and it had to be my fav fish didn't it?
  9. Yeah, no sign of him I'm just hoping he'll turn up, dead or alive... I need closure! hahah
  10. Yep checked all those places 2 or 3 times. Even checked inside the skimmer. Only thought is that he's possibly managed to jump through the small gap where 1 of my fans are while it wasn't running and ended up on the floor, then the dog has had fish for lunch. Although, hunting round in the tank about 2am this morning, i thought I had seen his head, but it may have just been a reflection
  11. I've had a good hunt for him, but can't find him Only hope is that he's decided to sleep in a rock for the evening. I'll be gutted if he has gone
  12. Rocks are sturdier now than they were before I hope i find him too...... alive
  13. I'm sure I saw him this morning before I went to work, but this afternoon he's nowhere to be seen. My Blenny is always out and about perched up on something, but tonight he's either hiding, or has gone to fishy heaven. All the other fish are happy as. Makes me wonder if my AWOL Brittlestar has perhaps had a snack of blenny? *shakes fist* Anyone know if blennys are prone to hide for certain reasons?

    What is it?

I've got one of those in my tank aswel, but its clear. Noticed it one day when I was feeding as it grabbed food and disappeared, then reappeared kind of like a balloon being blown up

Quick Look over there!! *Fmxmatt points in direction away from tank, and when Jolliolli looks, he pinches a large mushroom* Nope, you missed it, man it was funny to see, shame you were too slow

Loving those MASSIVE mushrooms!!! Where did you get them? Or have they just grown that big?! Looking awesome!
  17. Heres a couple more blenny pics for those blenny lovers out there
  18. Ripped that "self starting syphon" flappy thing out because it was constantly jamming, and bought a hand type pump thing to start the syphon at the end of the hose.
  19. I'm only running about 140w on a 350litre. Could be lighting times maybe? My timer poo'd itself during the week and 2 39w T5's stayed on for just over 48 hours, there was quite a bit of golden diatoms on the sand after that. But also contributing was a lack of water change I think I modified my syphon because of the same reason
  20. Do you work for Richard Smith? hahah
  21. Well theoretically I shouldn't need to cycle the new tank if I'm using all the stuff out of the old tank? Although if I decide i want sand, I will probably get hold of a heap of that and cycle it seperately well before I get the tank
