  1. i got home tonight, did my usual look in the tank... and here's a stem from my Aponogeton crispus shooting up towards the top of the tank! it's another flower! it first flowered about two months ago (maybe 6 week's) but being too keen to see it grow every day, i missed out (and totally forgot) to take any pictures these are only taken from my cellphone, so they're not the best quality.. but you can still kinda make it out  from top of the tank: from the front: the last flower grew about 12inches long, pure white and smelt lovely, it later grew 6 seed's from it which are still growing in my tank only time will tell how much will come from this one! will keep posted on progress of flowering etc

    platy fry

ill throw my question into this post as it's kinda related to the topic i have platty/sword/guppy/bristlenose fry in one barebottom tank with a cornerfilter. but getting the muck from the bottom without sucking up baby BN's is not so easy, as there are about 30 or so of them any idea's of making waterchanges in this tank easier?
  3. thank's everyone ive learned alot from what you lot have said. well, ive put him in the community tank, and ill see how he goe's if he becomes to be a problem ill send him over to graeme (inlaw) or start a species tank, as i wouldnt mind havin more than one of them myself Thank's again everyone for your helpfullness
  4. We just today bought a tiny bumblebee golbie. Just wondering if anyone knows much about these. i've read they are not too keen on flakefood, but that isnt the problem. i want to put the little fella into my 2.5' community tank, it's well planted and has a few rocks and cave's to hide in. fishies in the tank are: a dozen neon tetras 7 bristlenoses a pair of blue 3spot gourami's a golden honey dwarf gourami a pair of corydoras julli a male saimese fighter i just dont wanna have a look in the morning and find he's not there so my main point really is, should i put it in? any opinions would be great!
  5. that sucks. sorry to hear that. but i guess the only wat to stop these things, is to have some sort of power generator, or what ever. anywho, that still sucks. here's to hoping that the rest recover!
  6. hehe, seem's like those larger type filter's give out free fish every now and then (fish from that virtual tank maybe?) might have to invest in one for my new tank
  7. well if anyone happen's to find this virtual guppie tank, and you see a male "tuxedo"(black body red tail) about 2cm's long please send him home, thanks
  8. I have a decently sized, planted community tank inhabitants: a dozen neon tetras 4 bristlenoses a pair of blue gourami's a golden honey dwarf gourami a pair of corydoras julli a male saimese fighter and there once was a male guppie at brekfast time yesterday, the guppie was there. but come dinner time he wasnt :-? i have checked behind the corner filter, under every rock, and peice of drift wood. even in the tangled java moss. we even checked around the tank to see if he had jumped out. but no guppie. it's nothing important, but we still find it weird how there is no dead body, or anything. if anyone has any comment's or suggestions on what might have happened to the little fella, it'd be great. thanks
  9. Yes rob it is a dark green looking and forms a sheet type look over everything (greame's neighbour) and bristlenose's dont touch it, he put some large ones in the first time it appeared and the problem still remained after four to six weeks+
