    Hi I'm new here

While you're waiting for those photos, here's a thread specifically about Neophema pulchella breeding - viewtopic.php?f=17&t=50043 And you'll enjoy this one with pics of popular exotic finches - viewtopic.php?f=17&t=50756 I only have three finches - a pair of Chaffinches and a male Goldfinch. I would love exotic finches, but they need lots of live food and special aviaries that act like a glass house to trap warmth.

    Hi I'm new here

Aww, he's/she's so cute   Just out of interest, what food do you give him/her? From experience I've found parakeets love apples, oranges, silverbeet, lettuce and spinach, but they won't touch pears or bananas! I give mine the Top Flight stuff - Canary Mix and Finch Mix, both mixed together at a ratio of 1:1. They also love sunflower seeds (and they contain oils, which are good for the feathers), but I was told by a breeder that they contain estrogen or something, which is a hormone, and that because of the estrogen the sunflower seeds, they are unhealthy for the birds and should not be fed regularly. But the birds get oils out of the linseeds which are already in the mixes that I give them. I'll try and post some pics of the aviary in the next couple of days, or I might even start a seperate thread for it

    Hi I'm new here

Welcome to the forums Jaimee I'm also a bit of a bird freak too. I like parakeets, particularly Neophemas, plus I also have doves, canaries and finches and a few other birds. Would you like me to post you some pics of my aviary and its inhabitants? Your drawings are amazing! I'm jelous 8) I wish I could draw
  4. I suppose they do look kind of nice, even if they aren't the best-looking for their species Although at the moment I actually don't really care about how they look - I have already become attached to them because they have such cool little personalities (fishenalities? ) And yes, I will definately post updated pics in a month or two
  5. Any pics of the male please? :bounce:
  6. Here they are :happy1: Most photos of my macmasteri are of the male, but there are one or two pics of my females too As you can all see, they are very camera-friendly fish
  7. Wow excellent work :happy1: BTW they are actually macmasteri not viejita

  11. Cool. I'll remember all that (hopefully) I also have frozen daphnia and frozen brine shrimp. I'm currently broke right now, after spending money on various Eheim equipment and the fish and some other stuff, so when I get a bit more cash I'll go shopping for live food cultures Danval, where do you get the live bloodworms from?
  12. Cool. My spirulina tablets are Nutrifin Max by the way.
  13. I have spirulina tablets and Tetra Tropical flake. From what I've heard Tetra's quite good. Any other brands out there that will top Tetra in dried food?

  15. Except uglier  I need to get some live food cultures set up so I can give them a proper diet so the colours will improve  BTW pic four is a female (I think). The rest are all of the same fish which is the male.
