  1. You can find random photos of me being weird on the Flickr link in my signature.
  2. - Seagull Orchestra This is one of the most wonderful songs that I have ever come across!
  3. No it's not I have read heaps and know enough about Apistos to know that trifasciata don't do such a bizzare thing. I know that they can become darker and change their colours, but they have no pigment on the tail and they don't have large, very dark spots on the head that are more to one side and change position every now and then.

Hey Sophia! That chicken sounds nice. I found my Tri fry (new batch; other female and the male removed from tank) and fed them some pearl thingies and they are so cute! There's about 20-30 of them.

Been taking lots of random photos lately.
  6. This is very weird. I noticed that my male tri had some funny black blotches and streaks through his tail the other day. However each day they seem to change position and split up into smaller spots/flecks or join into a large group and last I saw them they were a couple of blotches on his head. He's been eating and looks fine otherwise. Anyone have any idea of what this could be and how to treat it? Also this is real, I'm not imagining it. I'll try and get some pics. - Joe
  7. Thanks so much to whoever fixed it :happy2: :happy1:
  8. Post a link to it please. I can't seem to find it... :dunno:
  9. Oh I didn't realise that you had already got them. Photos please! :bounce:
  10. Awesome PM Danval. He might have some trifasciata left. I bought my trio from him and they are much nicer than shop-bought fish because they have been reared from day one on live food so the colours are spectacular! My male has a deep red stripe across the top of his dorsal fin and he looks wicked!
  11. Woah looks awesome How many trifasciata are you going to put in there?

I did say that it was my opinion
  13. Yep Jen's still around. She no longer keeps Apistos. She sold her male hongsloi and I bought her female which later died, but Bilbo has two females so I am pleased that I sent him the male I had. I know it's in safe hands
  14. Haha yeah it would be nice for them to be more available Even better it would be great if we got some wild-caught fish in NZ like the ones in the video. That would be my dream job - importing and quarantining wild tropical fish
  15. Humans disgust me :an!gry Most horrible species to have ever lived. I hope that everyone realises what they're doing sometime soon, or there isn't going to be a future left for anything on this planet. I don't understand why we have to package things up in horrible plastic stuff :dunno: I would just as happily buy food in paper bags

Skinks are so awesome! I go to the local beach and catch them, as well as geckos, and then release them  People who get scared of them really annoy me - I can understand spiders and wetas, but skinks, honestly? They have to be one of NZ's most beautiful animals. IMO they're way cooler than stuff like kiwi birds. A lot of NZ's native lizards are under threat and people need to be made more aware of them. I personally think some sort of breeding programme should be put in place (correct me if there already is one that I don't know of) - they do it with a lot of birds and weta and tuatara, so why not skinks and geckos?
