  1. I did. I can change it back if you like
  2. I'd be using a sentence using words like 'Uniformed Idiot', 'Wilful Damage', and 'Police'. Then I'd file a claim with my insurance company and let them chase him for compensation (they are good like that).
  3. Actually I think that is what I might have built (I just worked from a picture posted on another site) - maybe with a bit more tuning it might be a go-er afterall.
  4. I might just have to drill an overflow of some sort in the back. I'm a little reluctant to do so in case of disaster, but it would solve a few problems. I like the IDEA of raising them, but I very much doubt that I will be able to. I simply don't have time to do it properly. I'm actually in the process of reducing the number of tanks / fish I have, so gearing up to raise them doesn't really fit into my 'glorious 5 year plan'. That said, what is the difference between a sump and a fry tank?
  5. Yea - or else I thought I might talk to Zhaque about whether or not I could daisy-chain a few more LEDs of the existing circuit so that they are switched by the RSM's timer.
  6. Anyway, to get back to the subject, if I stick a sump on the RSM how much lighting do I need on it? Do I need any at all? I just want to grow pods rather than make an all out refugium - your thoughts?
  7. 768 replies (cf views). Man, what a sad bunch we are!
  8. I've checked - it is the longest in terms of replies (easily surpassing chimera's measily 768), but reef's reef seems to have the most views.
  9. It is the most magnificent product ever made!
  10. Well, I've built one, but I can't say that I'm overly enthusiastic about the intake side of things, so I've decided to abandon gravity / water weight power and just use a double peristaltic pump to drive the water in both directions - safe, simple, reliable (expensive).
  11. Well, I have Mandarin eggs. They did their little dance again last night and released a lot of very small eggs... then they both went back to the rockwork for a cigarette.
  12. But tasted better
  13. I'll plumb a sump - I need to grow lots of pods and things now that my Mandarins are 'doin' the wild thang'
  14. Its long since gone - poor thing. It was bigger than the enclosure and just lay there in the stagnant water. That zoo sucked.
  15. Nothing to worry about unless more of them start to die off. Neons aren't the most robust or long-lived of fish, so to have one die every now and again isn't unusual. You've already done the first thing you should do (a good water change) so just test your water and keep an eye out for symptoms of anything unusual
  16. So, I'm beginning to think that money I could put into upgrading the RSM might be better spent on a whole new bigger set-up. I've got limited room at home, so its likely that I won't go much bigger than 4' / 1.2metre (I've actually already got a 1 metre Eheim converted to take an MC600 sitting in the garage, along with the other half of the rockwork that ended up in my RSM). Although I'd love to build a huge tank the reality is that I'm not in a position to right now, so what is the 'usual' set-up around a 3-4' tank? A couple of Halides backed up with a couple of t5's, MC(E)500/600 skimmer? What else should I include in my costing?
  17. Not too sure yet - and rather than hijack this thread, I'll continue my ponderings over in the usual one... see you there...
  18. I don't know yet - it depends upon a few other things, but it'll be up for sale as soon as they are finalised.
  19. If you wait a bit longer, you can probably buy my RSM cheap...
  20. You'd better change your user name to 'ryinjury'
