  1. Not where the 4% is the concentration of the medication required. We know he wants 20mg total (to get 0.1mg/litre in a 200 litre tank), so if the substance he has (I'm guessing its Formalin) is '4%', then all you need to do is devide the total quantity he need (20) by the percentage concentration (0.04).
  2. I'm assuming that he means that whatever he has contains 4% of what he wants to get to a level of 0.1mg/litre. It might be a false assumption - he'll need to clarify what he means.
  3. 0.1 x 200 = 20mg needed 20 devided by 0.04 = 500
  4. Hang about - 0.4 is 40%, not 4%, and by 'concentration is 4%', do you mean that what you are using contains 4% of what you want to get up to 0.1/litre? If so, then shouldn't the calc be: (0.1 x 200) _________ 4 x 100 = 500? If not, then "0.04 x .01 x 200 = 0.8
  5. Don't forget that one on tardme comes with a stand and lights too.
  6. I think you'll find there is a ban on exporting them, rather than importing them.
  7. Yes, you can shoot Doves. The owners usually get upset though.
  8. I think by 'reinforced' the seller is talking about the extra pieces of glass at the top and bottom, the glass itself is still only 6mm float. If you buy this tank I think you should let a glazier measure, cut, and install the base.
  9. Bio supplier 'Turtle treats' always get them interested.
  10. May as well leave him behind then I guess.
  11. fart = fart [fɑ:t] vulgar, I nombre pedo What do these snails eat!
  12. Indirectly they all can because tiny animals, which the fry eat, eat algae even if the fry don't.
  13. I've read about this in some very old books, but I've never met anyone who has actually had that happen. I wonder if a particularly underfed plec might do it, or if it were in a bare tank (as used to be the fashion) it might try to 'hide' on them, but in a standard planted tank I think the chances are extremely low.
  14. It generally beneficial, but don't forget most are raised without it - they'll be fine either way.
  15. Yep, and orient it so that it sprays from one end of the tank to the other, rather than front to back.
  16. Dixon, Discus DON'T like strong current - but all of the fish you've mentioned will be fine in gentle currents.
  17. I hear that humans exposed to RCD lose all sense of grammer and punctuation
  18. Barrie is right, but if you are just wanting to breed a few for fun Moss is fine, and might support tiny animals the fry can feed on too.
  19. I'd still use an internal power filter, or better still an external cannister because that makes cleaning really easy. I'd set the tank at 29 degrees, and preheat any water that you use for changes to the same. You can move them once the get to about 5cm (although it isn't critical) so long as the tank you move them to is also clean and the same temperature (in fact I'd transfer a lot of their water with them).
