throwing the lot in will give you lots of variety but will end up producing a lot of rubbish as well personally i would pick 2 or 3 nice trios of the same type of colour and confirmation and breed true this can be done in smaller tanks use the big tank to raise the fry until they are showing good colour then onsell

i think the OP is looking for a "clean" look to the tank ie: no pipes, cables etc.
