I turned up to work to find my work site had been vandalized, 2 steel box's that had been concreted into the ground where ripped out(they where our power boxes with live wires in them. Just 10m from work(on the lake front here in Taupo) there where smashed bottles and McDonald's rubbish all over the car park. Of course of cleaned it up like i do most weekend's. To top it off my Tiger Datnoid still wont eat. What a great day. Get to do it all again tomorrow :roll:

Id say your best bet would be solar panels running into deep cycles(exide orbitals at 3-400a pop) then to an inverter running heat and maybe lights? You could hook up a windmill for the days when its over cast and windy with no sun. The only problem might be your budget or it may not be a problem

I keep havening the problem of grey fluffy mold in my culture. Is there any way to get rid of this? I pick it out by hand and throw it it the bin. I change the bread/food every 3-4 days or so. So i do it more often? The mold is not always on the food. Thanks for you help

Im halfway through making my filter. Using a 3800l/h pump mounted internally and 1inch pipes. Have a look on tardeme for some pumps. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listin ... er=1951706 As i see it the more media the better. But as media volume increases you may need a bigger pump to get the water through it.

stick a cup in on its side, place some veges in there. When the climb into cup just remove cup and "deal" with them.

Is any one here able to get bog/drift wood for people like me who are hours away from the sea/streams that have the wood? I am willing to pay for postage and etc Im not paying $40 for wood for my tank, if i was my fish would have to be happy with some 4x2 :roll:

Where is here? NZ as a whole? I need to find a easy solution to doing 200L a week in a watering can and is going to increase with my new tanks.

Has anyone kept them? Where can i get them? I know they are salt water, but will they be fine in low end brackish/fresh(trying to induce breeding in puffers) and then into high end brackish?

Convicts are 2-3cm big, oscar is 7cm, and silver dollars are 7-8cm, bgk is 10cm. Is this over stocked? I plan of getting rid of the convicts

OK, so iv had the air pump off for a small period of time(24ish hrs). I have just noticed my 10 convicts, BGK, 3 silver dollars and oscar at the surface of the water looking like they are trying to eat/get air. They are all next to each other. I have turned the air pump back on to see if they stop it. What could be causing them to do this? I only notice it when the air pump is off.

Im liking the Tiger Datnoids, ill be in Auckland next week and plan on going to Hollywood fish farm and ill ask them what the have that will suit my situation.Cheers
