  1. Net, bucket, old shoes, towel already in the car. Leaving hamilton 9am tommorrow mourning just going to cruise down making sure that i make the executive meeting.Staying in a unit at club habatat. Can we please meet at 0945am at club habitat on Sunday before the molly hunt. Been in contact with doc who are keen on meeting us. See you all in Turangi and please travel safely Dave

  3. Just a idea ??? Contacted Prawn park today they now do package a package of unlimted prawn fishing, Behind the sences tour and apparently a riverside walk at 24$ per person or $22 for a group of over 20.We don't need to make a booking but maybe for those heading home on sunday it is worth a thought. Also thinking National trout hatchery after chasing mollies on sunday. Still really keen on everyone meeting somewhere probaly a lunch after the molly hunt. Anyway only days to go and i am really looking forward to seeing everyone agian for what is to be garuanteed to be an enjoyable weekend
  4. Jim I do know the stream as i have jumped in there a few times after mud wrestling with the local mollies that is . In previous years we have just parked along the side of the road from the 70kph just on the Little wahi side of the bridge . I am sure we can do the same hope not to attrach to much attention but i have that covered might just make the local paper Rember start time is 10am will be there from 9:45am Will be staying at club habatit on saturday night

  6. I am sure that this thread is going to make 2200 veiws . Any suggestions on where we should meet before hand have a kinda idea who is coming down and staying at club habiat and who is meeting on the day. Like to organise a BBQ or something for everyone to meet on saturday night.Might have to talk to my follow executive members about maybe having something after the meeting on Saturday

  8. Shelize itwould be good to see another waikato person in down there. Bring your son actitiys (activities) like this are for everyone to become involded and most importanly enjoy themselves. So impress about the intrest about the molly hunt just can't wait .

  11. Sorry ben offline as i just shifted and the powers to be were a bit slack getting me back. Anyway not long to go now so lets confirm who is deafenily going to be there for the day or coming down on the 3rd. Should we organise dinner or meet on saturday evening . Otherwise see all other willing mollie hunters at th swamp at 10am on the Sunday the 4th Will be down on saturday staying at club habatat
  12. Mud wrestling for mollies in the swamp well that is deafenily abit of me as some previous molly hunters know. Been in contact with the local doc Ranger though my good friend natasha grianger and w will beseeing themat the molly hunt just in casei end up mud restling with the locals
  13. Warren looks like we are going to have a good turn out forthe Executive meeting. I think a couple of Waikato members are coming down for the molly hunt but i will encourge them to come along especiacally as we are hosting the National fishshow in October this year

  15. Yep Daniel they are introduced but have some green, purpulish colours which look very nice under th correct lighting. Please rember to contact me to let me know if you are coming, where you staying as i will try my best to co orditnate this trip so everyone knows where we are at. Keep this thread going as it is really encourging to see so much ethustumium by potential great molly hunters

Also i am looking into pricing for a group tour & prawn fishing at th prawn Park at Huka falls Thinking of aroung 2pm. Will have prices hopefully in the next 24hrs if not deafenily monday some people still on holiday. Please give me feedback if you like that idea Done it before and it was a Blast

The molly hunt is happenning at the Tookannu swamp at 10am 04/02/07 What do you need well a net, bucket , towel, old shoes, chance of clothes, Oxy shell or portable air pump, Plastic bags and plenty of Ethustamium Made a couple of enquires in regaurds to accomodation this being a Waitangi weekend the best option was Club Habitat in Turangi Types of accodation avaible are 6 * Backpackers Dooms which sleep up to 6 people at $22pnpp 4* Backpackers cabins which sleep 2-4 people at $26pppn You will need to provide bedding but have use of a communal kitchen 3*motel units minimun of 2 people at $95pnAlso exceutive lodges at $119pn Please ask for Shirely at Club habitat Ph (07)3867492 As i said in previous post this is going to be alot of fun so i hope to see you there. Along with the moly hunt there is the National trout centre, hot pools , catfishing at the tailrace and plenty of other actives that can be done.   20. I know this is short notice but the FNZAS executive have a committee meeting in Turangi on Saturday the 3rd of Feburary. I was kinda thinking about organising one of my lengaryary molly hunts for the Sunday the 4th of Feburay. If there is enough interest i will make some enqires about accomadation. Previously have used the Oasis motor camp at Tokanuu which has cabins and hot pools reasonably priced.   22. Hi Becc and Malawiman Good to see another local group of hobbyist in another town. As i have passed on to malawiman you are most welecome to come and vist the Waikato Aquarium soc based in Hamilton although our members come mainly from hamilton but a few from the outer Waikato districts.As you have may readed in posting thoughout this site there are many benefits of becoming part of a collective group of hobbyist like meeting others with a comman interest, pooling of knowledge and ideas just to name a couple.
