  3. Hi Natasha Good to see another fishkeeper in the Waikato. The WEaikato Aquarium Soc have a tank crawl where we go and view club members aquariums on Sunday 5th of April starting at 12pm at the Hamilton Zoo. You are welecome to come along and join us Dave Waikato Aquarium Soc President

  6. . Some of the The Waikato Aquarium Soc will be having a tank crawl instead of club meeting on Sunday the 5th of april . We will be meeting at Hamilton Zoo at 12pm and visting club members Aquariums and possibly a couple of shops. Tank crawls are a great oppintunity to share differnt ideas and view the different types of aquariums that club members enjoy Catorgories for tank crawl include ponds , coldwater, marine , furnished , unfurnised and overall best Aquarium . There are trophies that will be presented in prizgiving at AGM in May.Club may get a few Pizzas for dinner Saturday 18th April we are heading over the bombays visting Dave cooper at Mahurangi tech , grass carp farm and visting a couple of Auckland shops. Club will be providing a minivan for this trip so noboby gets lost in the crazy Auckland traffic Please pm me or Siman if you are interested in ethier entering tank crawl or jioning us on club trip.   8. Hi Just thinking about confence etc and going to try and put the following travel plan together. Thinking flying to nelson from Hamilton on the Friday. Getting to picton somehow on Monday jump on the ferry arcoss to wellington as i have never done that before and finally hiring a car in wellington to drive back to hamilton. Will hopefully get this sorted in the next couple of days but i am really looking forward to confence as i always do every year Dave

  12. Have spoken to Fiona and tim from the goat island Camping and Cabins . They have a good range of accodation avaible for saturdau the 15th of march. Mainly caravans and cabins which are $25 per night per adult but also have tent sites etc aviable. You will need to bring your own sleeping bags etc . There is a kitchen that we can use kinda thinking BBQ on the saturday night. The camping ground is only 500mtrs from the goat island marine reserve . Please book your accodation (09)4226185 Dave

Hi everyone Just a brief note on a couple of awsome things that our club has for the next couple of months Next Club meeting 2/03/08 at 6pm waikato bridge club club rooms , brookfield st hamilton We are having a BBQ our club will be supplying meat, drinks etc all we ask is for club members to bring a derset or salad I am also organising a guest speaker at this stage looking like amy mc donald who was one of our exhibitors at the national fishshow. She will be enlighting us about the new zealand native mud fish. 15th and 16th march going north We great excitement i am please to say that we have confirmed a trip to vist Dave Cooper at the Mahurangi Technical institute on saturday the 15th of March. Meeting there at 9:30 am from which Dave is going to give us a tour of the aquaculture facilties they have on the premises. We will also be visting the grass carp farm which is close by . Accomodation We are looking at the goat island cabins and camping ground. We will probaly have a bbq this night. I will post prices etc once i have confirmed this but it is going to be reasonable 16th march Goat Island We are going to spend the day at goat island marine resrve. This is really amazing place to get right in amongest some beautful snapper, kingfish and anything esle that happens to turn up . They have snorkling gear for hire etc there. Thing i might just my kayak and fall off If time alows we may go and vist the reptile farm at ti point in liegh The Waikato club welecomes any members of the FNZAS to jion us for this weekend just Pm me and let me know April Club Meeting Going to organise a speaker or we will have a genral discusion about our hobby of fishkeeping focusing on on setting up different types of aquariums etc Tank Crawl Mid April date to be confirmed We will be having our tank crawl where we vist club members house to view there aquariums etc. This will be jugded as we have a trophie availble for the best aquarium of the year Dave

The show is over the tanks are packed ready for the next club to host the next national fishshow I would personally like to thank all the members of the Waikato Aquarium Soc who have put in alot of time and effort in making the national fishshow as sucessfull as it was. The judges who worked really hard to score all 377 entries , our sponsors and exbitors who set up some awsome displays and finally those FNZAS members who entered as if we didn't have entries it wouldn't of been a fishshow. I must admit that i am still a bit blown away off the amount of people that came thought just shows that our hobby of fishkeeping is still going strong so having the ocassional fishsow deafenily promotes the hobby and clubs which is primarly what the fishshow was about. Going to relax for a week or two, three or four but agian thank you for your support Dave
  19. Today is a day that myself and the waikato aquarium Soc have been looking forward too for a long time. No turning back now The show starts today from 10am till 5pm Dinner at Ruakura from 7pm Sunday 21/10/07 Show open 10am till 5pm Prizing starts at 6pm Auction after prizgiving from around 7pm Last day of show Monday Show open from 10am till 2:30pm Debenching from 2:30pm See you all at the hamilton Gardens Dave
  20. Just got back from benching fish etc at gardens and so gratefull that i have a good group of people that all have been putting in some huge effort to bring you an awsome show. All fish are benched no disaters all displays are looking great come on down you will be very impressed

  22. The NZKA killifish stand is going to be dedecated to Alan and his ture passion he had for his killifish at next weekends National fishshow. I wish i could of made it to say goodbye but can promise that i will do my best at making the national fishshow just how you would have liked it. Making sure we do have the right colour certs and follow up on those minitures Not going to be the same without you my friend Dave
