  1. your with the wrong insurance co then!!!! i know its somthing that state covers!
  2. We have decided to removed them when we noticed the wrigglers, as last time, while mum and dad did a great job, the babbies were far to hard to catch once free swimming!
  3. Well done!! thats just what ours did, now we have wee pin head size babys! and mum and dad still guarding them feircly!!
  4. ok so eggs are looking good so far, mum and dad doing a great job, however im concerned about 3-4 of the eggs have gone to a lager size and look almost puffy? have these... "gone off" or are they the only ones that got feralised>?
  5. Tell you what here's a better version of that same photo
  6. Hmmmm thats a bugger then. We are hoping now that this doesn't happen with us.
  7. Jewels are known for eating any eggs that arn't fertilised so it may be a posibility that the eggs they are laying are not getting fertilised. We are lucky so far, noticed the eggs about 3hrs ago and the parents are very determined to protect their babies. We are just going to have to hope that they can keep this up and that when we have fry that we can get to them quick enough to seperate them from the other tank mates as I don't think they would last too long.
  8. Yup your right there mum and dad are Jewel's and so far doing a great job of protecting the wee ones, how many days would it be untill we get wrigglers? sorry just really clueless, have tired breading before, but of course once you stop trying they do it by them selves!! Dodgy Tank mates would be, the giant gourami, and the ghost knife im betting! oh and the rainbow sharks.. but mum and dad are keeping them all clear at the moment! Silver Sharks and clown loaches im hoping wont be a problem along with the alge eaters and phantom tetra's
  9. <-- removed as have better quality image now Ok so we have eggs... Now what!!! Help!! lol
  10. first question, what is skinny disease?
  11. thats just it, the others seem fine, and so did the 'sick' ones before we notcied, where would we get metro and or prazi from?
  12. no idea about the faeces, they dont seem to be hiding (more than normal anyway), no ammonia spikes or anything like that, weve tried to seperate the 'sick' ones when we notice, take them out and put them in an ice cream container and feed them (just thought they may not have been getting enought food) but once 'sick' they dont want to eat at all and soon after they yeah we have been doing all the good stuff, tank has been set up for about 4 months now, i know clowns tend to be a bit sensitive but the angel and ghost we have had since the start, nope no bent spines
  13. Hey guys, hoping you can help me out here, weve had 11 fish die over the last 3 weeks and not sure why, 5 Clown Loaches, 3 rams, a ghost knife, and a congo tetra and a Angel. it seems to take only a matter of days after they get "sick" to die, it seems most obvious in the clowns, they get really skinny and have a sunken belly then die in about 24hrs, an nothing we seem to do helps. Water levels are fine, sitting at about 25-27 deg, 20-30% water changes every week, have had a talk to john at organisim and we both seem to think it could be a parasite, perhaps worms, has anyone got any ideas? have been in to the vet to see what they thought but of course they want a consult, but by the time we realise one was sick and took the time to get the vet out the poor wee thing would be a goner any help would be apreciated

  17. We have always suck ours in a bucket of hot water for a couple of days, that way anthing thats going to leach out of it does
  18. id just be worried about an am onia spike.. with the filter being off, bacteria die, then when you turn your filter back on it pumps the tank full of them then as they breakdown your ammonia will shoot through the roof!! (not that ive had any experiance with that  )
  19. ... since when do you have marine wilson? (did john con you into it?)
