  1. mine get fed flake once a day and they dont get fed on a sunday . because in nature your fish would have some lean times.
  2. to be honest i didnt see the eggs mum guarded them inside half a coconut shell and brought out the babies when they were free swimming i think in general eggs are cream colored and ones that are white are infertile . dont worry tho in a couple of weeks they will be ready to go again good luck!!

    corydora eggs

hi could someone tell me roughly how big cory eggs are and will they be stuck to something or will they floating aound the tank?
  12. This week i brought some killies from Tim and he put them on a courier on Tuesday night and was told that they would arrive the next morning. On Wednesday afternoon i rang Tim and said that hadnt received them yet. Tim traced them and found out they were in Whakatane , i was gutted that i was going to get a box of dead fishies , and Tim wasnt overly confident of any survivors either. On Thursday morning the courier turned up and i opened the box and found 13 pairs of beady eyes looking up at me. By the time the killies had got home to my tanks they had been in the bags and polybox for 48 hours so credit to Tim for selling strong healthy fish and doing a good packing job. No credit to the courier company  , i would like to shame them but i would probably get my hand smacked. So Tim
  13. off topic a bit, i have just had a new stand made , i got the steel for free , ask at the motorcycle shops , they crate some of the bikes ,especially 4 wheelers in a steel frame , it is cheap steel but it ideal for tank stands mine was 2"x1". i called in a favor with one of my customers and he welded it up for me.

  17. i have a 100 litre tank that is divided into 3 sections , the dividers are about 3 " from the top glass cover and the water level is about 3" below the top of the dividers , my problem is that the fish can see through the glass and think that the grass is greener (or as the case may be the water is cleaner ) and deciede to just jump over...........any suggestions would be appreciated , i will be getting some killies soon and those little buggers can jump very well

  21. just went and checked , yes same seller and exactly the same pump , got it on 9-11-07 and have had it running since then with no problems. if i get a chance ill take some photos of how i set it up and post them here for you
  22. hi ryan i brought one of those for my fish room off tm i am only running 3 tanks off it thou , i threw away that manifold and because i work for an engineering supplies company i made one out of stainless steel with 6 outlets and have small regulators controling the flow from one. i run a small sponge filter in each tank, each regulator is turned down as low as the can go.in my opinion it would probably run 20 airstones/sponge filters. and anyway the way i looked at it was that it has 6 outlets on the manifold and 6 airpumps at $15.00 was $90. the only downside that i thought of was if the pump failed it would stop all your tanks. other than that , it was the best purchase i have ever made for my fish. if you are ever in the 'naki give me a pm if you want to have a look at one running they are a little bit noisy(vibration) but mine is outside and i hung it on a cup hook from the ceiling and makes about the same noise as a normal air pump michael.
  23. have managed to get mine to spawn , NO bubble nest! . came in one morning to feed the parents and all the eggs were floating on the top of the water. so i whipped the parents out and in two days they were free swimming. its hard to tell how many fry there are cos they are very tiny , maybe 2mm long. i had over 100 eggs so if i lose 75 % im still doing well. the person that put glad wrap over the tank , sounds like a cunning idea i have read that after day 10 you need to keep the cold air out because thats when they develop enuff to be able to breath at the surface. will keep you posted on events
  24. i ll let you all know if i am sucessful and how i did it
