Tonight while looking in my big tank in the lounge I discovered a 1cm rummynose. Given that the tank houses discus, rummynose, neons, cardinals, cory and bn and has just recovered from a huge ammonia spike that took out about 20 fish I am somewhat astounded that obviously one of my rummynose has bred in this tank. There appears to be only one young fish.
I water change every 2nd - 3rd day at the moment and vacuum heavily as well as my filter has not yet re established itself as after the ammonia spike I had to completely clean it out.
Is it common for these fish to breed in this sort of set up? I thought not.
