  12. I have a pl compact type 16 watt light for a 50 l tank that is 12'' deep, is this why my plants never go to well? Also what sort of arrangement would you reccomend for a 100 l 20'' deep tank?
  13. Ive had betta and neons together, no worries at all.
  14. Like your idea. but the tank I will use has a hidden end as it is on the corner of a cabinet so the only way to see it would be looking through the side towards the other side I thought that an eheim 1000 pump might do the trick and you could also have a heater in the clean bit. Definetly have the seperator wall shorter than the rest so that there is no possible way water could get out of the tank and so that it would be imposssible for the pump to burn out.
  15. bit on the expensive side unfotunately but how about a box filter, by this I mean like a sump but in the tank. It would be 10% of the tanks volume. It would have an inlet on one side of the compartment and then the compartment would be filled with filter media and then have a return pump on the opposite side to the inlet.

  22. The water change was after the cloudyness, I had not done any water changes in the last two days before the cloudyness, also it is getting worse.
  23. I have had a 50 litre aquarium set up for about a year. Last week the ammonia was through the roof, that seems to be better now but the ph is way to low (6), at 3:30 I went into have a look at the tank and to my horror, the water was extremely cloudy, upon looking through the side, I could not dee the other end which is only 2 feet away. Following the advice of a book, I have done a 33 % water change. What is causing the milky water? What is the story concerning the ammonia? All the time I have had heaps of problems, following the advice from people at my lfs I have exhausted almost every possibilty (for the reason why I have problem after problem) Could it be the silicon on the 15 year old tank?
  24. The algae clear product I used does semm to have worked, after cleaning all the ordaments in the tank I have been dosing as per the bottle once a week and it is clearly disappearing. One concern I had was that it does start coming back on the heater after a week, but another dose fixes this.
