hi guys, i got asked about these the other day and have never heard of them. the showed me a pic and they look like bio ball but have a thing in the middel that removes ammonia any info would be good

the problem i found with the straws is that after time for some reason or another they stoped working and my tank over flowed (thank goodness for a safety overflow) so now i just have gauze over top of it and it stops the noise

well to get rid of that "ulgy look"i have mine hiden inside my cabnet behind closed doors.

i have a feeling that they are getting over there little tanty now as they are coming out more and more, i have a feeling becuase there routine was interupted by me going away for the weekend, i also left the bubbles off to day and they are out now

there are 2 main fish which i think would be dominant, one kingsizi, and the male arutras, but they are hidding just as much if not more

they r hiding all the time and only come out to eat, but before i added the gold line royal plec they would be out and swiming all the time, i have eletric yellows, kingsizis, arutus, rainbow melacromis, Ps aruroa, usd cats, GAE, and the gold line royal. they are in a AR-980 at 26c and weekly water changes of about 1/3rd Ph 7.5-7.6 nit 0 nat 0 amm 0 substrate coral balls, and about 50caves, there is also a bubble wall. ANY IDEAS? because im stumped!!!!!!!!!

um just 1 lil question, how big is this tank? i see you say it would look better in a bigger tank but um as far as i can see no one has said how big this tank it...

Tis a gold line royal plec L027 he is going into a malawi tank pH 7.4 (i went for stable rather than high) i know he gets big but by that time he will be in at very least a 6ft if anyone wants one i can get them from work (the LFS) p.s sorry for the pic he is still in the bag!

ok step 1 get you net remove the net and put it over the end of the gravel vac like so Put the end cap on it (the lil funny shaped bit) it'll be tight but thats good so it wont fall off and now as you can see the gravel isnt going down the pipe but you can still get all the crap out once you have got it full of sand just block the end of kink the hose and the sand will drop out of the net. its a little bit slower than normal vac but its going to save you so much $$ in replacement sand. IF you want to you can cut the netting down and tape it up etc have fun and let me know if you have any sucess

hiya guys, im running coral sand in my malawi tank (not the realy fine stuff but the lil balls that dont get stuck in gills) any way i got sick of having to top it up after my gravel vac so i got 1 of my small nets that i no longer use cut it up and put it on my gravel vac so no i can gravel vac my whole tank and not lose the sand or fish. if anyone wants pix let me know and ill upload sum. only lil problem is once the sand is in the vac i have to cut of flow for a second by bending the pipe but dnt worry it starts again no problem. P.s. im using a very fine net
