I would leave them on there and just add a single 250W MH. That way it is upgradable agian by adding on another one in the future. I personally like the 14K as it has a decent amount of punch with a hint of blue. But with your setup maybe a 10K MH with blue fluros.

I would call myself a risk taker (full siphon :lol: :lol: :lol: just kidding) but I wouldn't trust one of those (hang on overflows) for the life of me.

I'm also planning to run the tank BB for a while until it stablises a bit, then add asthetic sand. Can't wait to get some more water the halides are shining everywhere

Need some eggcrate for putting some rock on. Where do you get it from?

Got back for my holiday on Monday. Have moved the tank into my flat and have started to reassemble it, this building is hard work . Siliconing the bulkheads and pipework. My next big project is creating a structure for the rock to sit and joining rocks for aquascaping. Eggcrate with pvc pipe legs seams to be the norm. I have quite a few large rocks so was planning to break them up then drill holes in the rock and insert acrylic rods to make more intriguing shapes. My main theme is a diagonal valley running across the center of the tank. Any handy hints on aquascaping or related topics

10mm is getting a bit close to what can fit through the valve. I'll rip out the valve and actually mearsure it sometime.

what do you mean by u section? I'm just saying that the current standpipe is very effective at straining water, so much that it has basically no water flow resistance. 8)

Current hole size is 4.5mm. Will double the number of holes. Also noticed that when I take the standpipe out it doesn't affect the water level, so basically all the restriction is due to the valve.

Can anyone comment on my strainer? Slightly bigger and more holes so there isn't too much maintence but still block anything that can't go through the tap?

I think its cause you have already cached them.
