Have a couple that have started to play ie looks like theyre kissing non stop is this a mating ritual, also my angels have started attacking each other-OK not sure if its fighting or mating- but theyre from the same offspring so if theyre mating will have to move one -not to keen on direct inbreeding????????????????? :-?

yeah got a LARGE Plec in there, some tiger barbs and silver $ but wanted to have something that would clean in the small hard to get to places ie under driftwood etc

will 4200K bulbs be good for growing plants?

Ok just got 15 150w MH fittings with control boxes all with 3000K bulbs. is 6500K the right spectrum to be getting for planted? People talk about getting a UV blocking glass is this nessary? Ill be removing the protective covers from the fittings as theyve got patterns on them>>> suspending 2 of them above my 4 ft about 2in (should I put them higher?)and leaving the glass covers on the tank (dont want anymore suicide fish) Also whats a good kelvin bulb for a non planted tank general veiwing or should I just use fluros (tanks are tinted glass so need a bit of light)

Ive got 2 tanks on one stand that has one brace (not in the center but is holding) have set up the 2 tanks with no probs yet the third tank will be on a seperate stand made the same, with a brace in the center. I know for a fact MDF swells but had lots lying around and dont plan on letting it get too wet. will be repairing the broken tank soon and should have the bones for my 12ft look a like. just have to decide what the face/front cover will be

Hi have built some stands to take 3 4 footers side by side (going 4 the 12ft look) the Q I have is would a steel frame with 18mm mdf layed over the top be OK it has one support not quite in the center theyre 300l tanks and the base will be deeper than the tanks, could this cause the tanks to 'bow' and crack. already cracked one but that was due to a screw holding the mdf up from the stand :evil: will be gettin some 20ml poly as the 10mm stuff i have is uneven. will it allow for any give the mdf may have? Wheres the best place to get the poly (ie does anyone know any packhouses that have it lying around)

sorry had caps on (not shouting) will have to set it up and risk the pump, will be checked every day so shouldnt be a prob but you never know. might even try to find a one way valve in the outlet with a ball that floats and shuts off when the water level gets too high!!

what about chopped up bits of pvc plumbers/electrical pipe?

had some baby platties die in a breeding net with some java moss in it. Im picking it got too hot with the light close to the net as about 20 died and 3 survived some looked like there stomach was coming out of there side and the rest were pale., They were only one night old so no big loss but is the light theroy a good one?

WHAT i MEAN IS IF THE OVERFLOW GETS BLOCKED ON ONE TANK, THE WATER BEING PUMPED UP FROM THE SUMP WILL KEEP PUMPING INTO THAT TANK UNTIL IT OVERFLOWS

if I run multiple tanks on one sump where do I get valves to stop a tank overflowing if its outlet gets blocked. how effective is having the overflow at the top of the tank can you run a tube from the overflow to the bottom?????? how about having the return go to some undergravel plates so any waste is pushed into suspension? Anyone got a decent sump for sale?? Will only need if I get some extra tanks next weekend!

my angels seemto have had some of there fins nipped and looks like some battle scars?? black marks on bodies,also the long trailing bits have ben nipped :evil: the only change has been a male C a couple of weeks ago is it possibly him???
