  1. If I understand what you have said correctly is that I have cross breed the two different types of ablinos together?? I am not home for around another week, but i'll have a look at my them to see which ones have the white spots on them.
  2. Ahh awesome. Thanks for the info. They spawned again about 2 weeks ago and the same storey again about 1/3 of the babies being albino and the rest normal
  3. Looking good kyle. How quiet is your overflow? I also saw some blue Fryeri (the people working there seemed to think they were quite rare but I wasn't to sure) down here. If you were interested I could bring them back up for you.
  4. The only angel I think we have atm is the coral beauty...blue with orangish sides??? depends how long ago you came, it might have also been a flame angel...red with black vertical lines/markings on its side. Although both of which aren't really around the $68 mark. You might have been mistaken for the klein's butterfly which I'm pretty sure isn't reef safe and looks like... http://z.about.com/d/saltaquarium/1/0/p/b/klein2_small.jpg
  5. i think it is one of yours cookie via another tank though
  6. as far as I know that leather is a green sacrophyton (sp?). Sorry can't get any more specific for you EDIT: my "'shrooms" are going well have opened up nicely like yours to. The one you totally destroyed is doing well to
  7. Awesome pics as usuall! nice job I Like the red mushies
  8. definatly no normal bristlenose in the tank. I think i'll spawn my male with my two females seperately and see if I can narrow it down to a female having a more dominant gene and hopefully its just 1 female and not my male. I guess its not really a problem, just wont make as much money outa them  I have breed my normal bristlenoses a few times but kinda just let them do their thing. I had no idea they grow so fast ova just a few days. I'll try and post some more pics tomorrow.
  9. Thanks for your help fishboi. I had a quick chat to my boss today about it and he recons the same as you. Although from what I understood he thinks that it is very unlikely if not impossible to get 100% albino babies. I'll post some more pics in about a week. I came home from work and I am surprised how much they have grown just in one day :bounce:
  10. ahh ok that makes sense. So going by that, if i crossed some of my normal looking babies is there a chance that some of their babies could be albino too, or would these be completely dominant?
  11. I thought that question might pop up  yes I am certain that they are all albinos. They have they whole red eye thing going on and there are no normal BN in the tank. They have a tank of their own.
  12. Them having the recessive gene is what made me think that all their babies would be albino. That is if my and knowlege of punnet squares from school biology is correct. I would have thought that the only time that there would be mixed offspring would be having heterzygote (sp?) parents and I would have assumed that a het parent would have the normal markings. I maybe completely wrong though.
  13. Hey everyone. I have got a trio of albino BN and this is their second set of eggs (their first lot was a complete failure). After talking to a mate about raising the fry I have decided to remove the wrigglers from the father and put them in a breeding trap with an airstone to see if I get a better success rate than last time. I have a feelling that the reason they all died last time was because of the siamese fighters I have in the same tank having them for tea. Well any way...after close inspection of the wrigglers I have noticed that some (about half) of the babies appear to have black eyes and are starting to go dark in colour, similar to my normal bristlenoses. Has anyone else had the same experiences? I just thought it seemed kinda strange. Here are some pics for you: My male: One of my females: And a pic of some of the little ones, you can see how some of them have dark eyes comepared to some of the others
  14. AWESOME Helifax! Mine to. I want to have a group of about six once I upgrade
  15. I'm seriously impressed with everything thats out there...Well done Heres my tank. Sorry about the heater on the front glass. I pretty much just put everything in the tank without arranging it properly after I moved it. I plan of setting everything up properly when I upgrade to my 2 foot cube probably happen around late feb.
  16. gzzz hold your horses, all in good time. Well actually I just need to find out where mum has hidden the camera
  17. So do I and I also don't seem to be having any problems in my tank. My frags seem to be doing really well atm.
  18. I second that. My 180L took me 8 hours! and yes fish can last in bags for at least 4 hours without oxygen pumped in All the above is excellent advise to go by. I wish I had larger water carrying devices and not lots of fish bags and polyboxes
  19. Thanks for that. I'll give it ago next time I visit the supermarket.
  20. That looks awesome. Nice job :bounce:
  21. Well, I think its about time I showed some more updated pics of my tank. Since last time I have aquired 3x 150W MH's but I only have 1 over the tank at the moment. I am going to use the others when I upgrade, which has been delayed untill next year due to moving back home with my parents over summer. Also gives me time to save up for some propper equipment..a good skimmer especially. I already have the tank 1200Lx500Wx450H (in mm) and stand . Sorry about pic qualities, I don't know anyone with a decent camera I can borrow. A full front shot of the tank. Zoomed in a bit on the right hand side of the tank. My hammer. It's usually open to about double the size. One of my leathers. All of them have recently really started growing quite well . Still having anemone problems (top center), lost all of its tenticles  . I've kinnda given up on it, but my clowns still like it. They sleep next to it at night and hang around it durning they day from time to time. My staghorn has also been doing really well lately. It's hard to see in the pic but it has started turn a real nice green colour and its tips are starting to branch . My clam! Its got awesome colour and seems to be doing really well. Wasn't really expecting much when I bought it. My sleeper goby. Man he's cool! He's doing really well despite people telling me I'd probably have issues with him. And finally, not saltwater but here is a poor picture of our flats baby fire-bellied newts .
