  1. neons just dont last long i know a breeder so my tank normally has about 50neons and they just slowly disappear, i think they die and get eaten by other fish
  2. WOAH thats BIG what do you feed it?
  3. my ballon kissers, they are about 8-9cm long and very FAT, lol
  4. shrimp and mussels you say....might give that a try
  5. my one just eats earthworms, or what ever that is left over from the other fish like ox heart, pellets
  6. i like driftwood and plants but some tanks i've seen look pretty good with ornaments i guess its the way you set it up like this or or this lol
  7. i have a fire eel and wanted another eel but from what i read online, most eels dont like each other as for the growth rate of a fire eel they dont grow super fast, just normal fish rate
  8. this is what happened with my tank no co2 - planted didnt really grow home made yeast co2 - plants grew pretty good now pressurized co2 - plants grow like weeds but i say its all about balance between amount of fish, lighting, co2 and ferts.. just start with no co2 and see how you go, its all about see what works for you
  9. thanks for the info luke they are in a 3ft tank with a fuval 304, 50% water changes everyday, so the water should be ok i'm going to see what the next batch is like first then will see if i need to treat them for flukes, But i will have to do that when i come back from a trip overseas soon hows your eggs going? any turned white?
  10. i used a product called "tonic" it was the only thing that i found that contained Meth Blue, (is there straight Meth Blue we can buy off the shelf?), my discus didnt freak when the tank went all blue, so you should be fine my fry were all good, attachments and eating off the parents but all of a sudden on the 9th day, they started swimming funny and swam at the surface of the water.....i'm thinking they had flukes? alot of site i read said its a common problem for discus fry...i guess i just have to wait until they spawn again
  11. thanks guys, will check it out next time i'm fish shopping keep us updated with the discus fry luke, i just lost a batch of 9 day old discus fry, dunno what happen

    New Tank

i think you trying to post this
  14. here is what i think with the heaters i have used aqua one, cheap and so so, you get for what you paid for Fluvaltronic, i would never use one again, had them in 3 of my tanks and they just failed one by one (two wont heat and one boiled my fish) jager, a awesome heater, never had any problems, i have them in most my tanks now...only thing is that the 300watt one is SUPER long! and you need alot of room for one JBL (dont think you can get them here?) another great unit, you can get a 300watt heater that is very small and powerful
  15. sweet, sounds like it will get along with my bunch Thanks Afrikan
  16. anybody had one of these? i'm thinking to get one to add to my 6ft and i'm just worried it wont get along with my other bottom feeding fish 8cm royal pleco 15cm fire eel the tank has a big piece of driftwood which both the royal and eel hide under.
  17. WOAH thats alot of discus! how can he keep track of them all
  18. i was thinking the same, they look very dried, so it might that them forever to sink
  19. doesnt matter where you get your driftwood, all driftwood might float and it might take months for it to sink i have a piece that is 4 and a half foot long, 1 and a half foot high, it pretty heavy due to the size and its been 3 months and it still doesnt sink :-? . i also have some small pieces which sank straight away and some that sinks after a couple of weeks its all luck i say
