iam thinking of purchaseing a tank with safty factor of 2 but is inclusive of a 1 year warranty, would that be sufficient time to analyse my tanks state or i can never tell if its safe with such a low factor?

Hi, Iam looking to make my own stand for a tank thats 172cm x 50cm x 52cm. I made on that was temperarory but not very appealing to the eye :oops: . Also as you can see the tank is wider than the table and doesnt look very good with all the extra wooden bits there used for support and flattning. I would like to make a new stand, somthing to atleast resemble something like this with a budget of about $200 - $250. With a matching canopy. - I just need some info on how to do it for a large tank (ive only seen tutorials for small stands). - What kind of materials, tools i will need and sizes, (prices would help too ), - A sump underneath would be awesome. - Lights inbuilt into the canopy or covered by the canopy so it cannot be seen Or is there someplace that will do this for me for about $500 approx? Thanks any help would be cool !

lol its just that shes done this like 3 times and everytimes she about to lay eggs she gets al crazy and attacks the pleco and such , get real territorial

my oscar keeps laying eggs alone by it self, i know it need a male to fertalise it, but i dont have one,(dont want a male as will overcrowd the tank) what should i do ? it laid eggs again today, i feel bad for it always staying by its eggs protecting them but nothing happens, is this common for many of the oscar owners here? i have a pleco in the tank with it.

wont the sand go up with the water when syphoning?

then how about having a ground level fish with it since the aros always stay up , with many hiding places? i love clown loaches, would like a black knife ghost fish. iam planning to get a bigger tank of about 2.5m x .7 x .7

Iam thinking of setting up my current tank that has a bristlenose catfish (about 15cm) and a adult red oscar into a arowana tank. I would like to know all the important things that i need to know about keeping such a fish that needs a lot of looking after. What tankmates are sutable for the arowana? I have a 480L tank which is about 175 x 55 x 60 cm. Checked around the web too. But would like a more personal note . Any help would be cool, thanks

iam thinking of adding a Silver Arowana (aprox 200mm) a good idea? i know that u must keep either only one aro or many (about 6)

right now i have 2 oscars a pacu and a big apple snail togeather, I would just like to know what are some suitable fishes to keep with the oscars and pacu? anything bigger than them selves or some others? i want to add some silver sharks to grow them bigger but i dont think itl work, mayb a big shark?? any help would be great. i went to the lfs, they said to add a teaspoon of tonic salt per 5gals, there was a remedy for this to cure pop eye but the demand in nz was very weak so no one markets them . might be able to buy online.. ill have to get the name again (forgot)

the oscars eye is stil popd does this mean that it will die for certain as i havent read any about saving them.?? i only got these 3 + big apple snail on tuesday, yesterday i went and bought one cf100 auqaone canister and another cf1200 canister filters, also bought the pond master clarifier. i noticed like 1-2 holes on the poped eye fish, today seems smaller , also they dont seem to eat wheni put food in, sometimes goes close but then goes back away from it. i use the protien sticks, any recommended foods? i hope things work out for the fish , added metaflex and stresszyme for feed the filter, also the pleco didnt seem to do too well in the big tank, kept running away when the oscars got closer, the pacu did nothing thou, so i returned it to its home (community tank) , also i read somwhere that i should have eiter 1 oscar or 6 oscars, anything bettween 2 and 5 will cause trouble within each other, mine seem to do fine, but should i just get 4 more incase? (later on) ? any help would be appreciated !

is it ok to put my small pleco in this tank with big mates?

yeah, i found out they dig and such, so i guess itll have to be a rock design. seems the previous owner didnt have the best maintance for them..
