So what are belly sliders? I just collected some fry from the tank. 3 are albino.

ive got 2 fry so far. None of which are albino. Hopfully some are. She must have mated with normal koi swordtails that where in her tank

Arrr yes the "Gambusia Affinis". From the Poecilidae family.They also come in a spotted form. They make great food for cichlids. They love mossies larve but they compete with native fish for food. keep them or dont keep them? I think that as long as they are controled then they should be fine, as long as they are kept out of our water ways , where they can compete with our native fish.

E.mison are a type of pill I got from the LFS. This stuff worked great. just had to help out by removing every sign of the algae e.g off rocks etc etc. Have you noticed that that algae smells also?

take some water from the main tank and put into another smaller tank????? or you could take the parents out

Osh its not fun at all. yer i was moving some tanks around today. And had to put the shrimp in another tank and drain there one. I got a little bit of water in my mouth. SOOOOOOOOOO im going to take a sample of the water from the stream and a sample of the water from the tank that they are now in and send it to the concil and they "aprently" will test it for you.

Hi there. Has anyone ever had Giardia in there tank????? I know it a parasite and lives in still moving waters. I caught some small shrimp from a creek not that long ago and have been thinking about it more and more. Maybe I brought in some Giardia with the shrimp :-? Have any of you guys had it in your tanks?

well there in a 1.5 foot tank. With a bit of lettuce and flake, THeres a few bits of muck on the ground that they have picked up. im going to get some of the creek water To put in the tank.

Ok so i got some shrimp from creek (3) and im going away soon. I havnt got any food prepared for them yet. What can I put in the tank to help provide food for them for a few days? mayb put crunched up flake in the tank or get a glass of the pond water and put it in the tank. Or maybe some water from the other tanks? Please help.

Hello everyone. Been a while since i posted but yesterday i got 1 male 3 female albino koi swordtails. THey look great but they are hiding quite abit. is this normal???? they just sit in the twisting valve dont com up for food. and when im to close to tank they hide and skoot around the tank Mayb im ugly

Make sure theres wood in the tank(for fibre) and i feed mine. JBL pleco chips and shrimp pellets. I feed mine blanched zuccini because im told they digest it easier.
