  1. Still, am really sorry, we got your hopes up... If only we could have got both cages up here, it would have been a go. My wife recently volunteered at the Wellington SPCA, so I can say with high certainty anyone that adopts from them has to prove they have the right environment for them (which includes being inspected).
  2. Will have a quick chat with my wife, suddenly realized this would mean reusing an old indoor cage here, until we could get the girl to the point we could put in with our girls. Also, no nookie between the bunnies allowed, we don't have space for babies lol. Update.. We are a little concerned we could find ourselves with three cages as we can't move the girls all in together straight away. Long term the suggestion would be neuter the boy, that way he and her can share a cage (it's actually the recommended mix of rabbits -females are the more dominant). My wife has a cousin in Karamea that could be interested though... Sorry, about the cold feet, just need to really work it out a bit more, and basically running out of time for us to be an option. Another option would be to bring them to an SPCA that has a no kill policy I.e Wellington doesn't.
  3. Carryl, could you fit that in, or is it too late now in any case?
  4. How big is the boy's one? Just in case that would that fit?
  5. Sound sweet, you sure you can't manage to keep them, or find a friend/family to at least look after them until you get your new place? We've got 2x dwarf-X and a mini-lop-x; however we did find it took a year to successfully introduce the third rabbit (a dwarf) into the same cage as the other two... So hence why I'm pretty sure I'd need the cage, which I think may be too big for Carryls bigger vehicle.
  6. Definitely an ambassador for frog keeping.....
  7. Dare I ask.... How much do you estimate this has cost you to set up?

Zayne, if you don't have access to a Dremel, I have an angle grinder you can borrow for the job, though will need to get a cutting disc. Been thinking of doing this myself, for a hide for my dragon, and also in some tanks.
  9. That's a nice sized cage.... So good on your partner for giving her such a nice big home. TBH I would need the cages, as having previously been through introducing new rabbits to each other (the females in particular) I know it can get ugly. Also, what sort of rabbits are these?
  10. No, it's more a dominance thing... but we joke, "when the cage is a rockin......."
  11. You don't want to know what 3 female bunnies are like when they are all alone without male company....
  12. Concrete pads can take a lot of weight typically, if it's on piles, you "may" want to ask a builder or engineer to come give their opinion on whether the floor will take it.
  13. I'd use screws, much better "hold"... Let us know how it goes
  14. I'd say for a beardie viv, it should be fine... Basically anything without water should be fine, or too many rocks. Perhaps put some more bracing, or extra fastners?
  15. Would love to help (got three girl bunnies already), but am up in Wellington?
  16. I had spoken to the Advance Electrical store just down the road from my house on Saturday, and the guy was going to arrange for an electronic ballast for me... TBH though, I got a bit nervous about wiring it all up (we had an experience with bad wiring in our house the other year, and I've worked in the electricity industry so seen the horror pictures), and decided to instead just go with getting some compacts instead.
  17. That reminds me of my Nan's old canary, bird could keep up with any metal I played for it.... damn bird was louder then any music I put on..
  18. Damn those eyes... Talk about expressive... I hope now it's being cared for by someone more clued up, it'll get a pedicure in the near future. Can't believe someone would have access to something so rare here, that they would be that inexperienced to make such simple mistakes* * admittedly making some assumptions here.
  19. Beardies do seem to be masters of comedic posing....
  20. Well he does keep trying to eat the either my signet or wedding rings.... I think that comes from associating shiny metal with food (due to tweezers for mealworms, dead crickets, etc)..
  21. I've actually got a little mini aquarium pumps which I used previously to create a bit of a waterfall in the terrarium. I think I will give what ID did a go, would be the best and easiest way to keep all the plants watered. The only thing is that I was thinking of have a substrate covering the bottom this time, so not sure how to stop that getting to the pump, and blocking it, and allow access for maintenance (perhaps a reservoir pond at the back of the terrarium....).
