    African setup...

Oh yeah I have half a dozen upside downs aswell, thats what i was forgetting  , cheers Diddnt mean for it to sound as if i would put a bichir in, just stating that it is one of the species from Africa With the pantadons it just comes down to the individual fish, some are fine some arent, a bit of floating cover helps too. Anubius, sweet as didnt know it was from there, not too crash hot on my plants, Thanks guys
  3. Hey all, just a thought at the mo but wanted a few ideas. Wanting to setup an African, i guess river, biotype with some pantadons and elephant nose and was wondering what else apart from bichirs, kribs and congos come from those parts? Not African lake species either. Thought it might be quite cool, just want an idea of what fits in with the mix, even plant species aswell would be helpfull Cheers guys
  4. Yikes, i hate the word flood, bad memories haha, good stuff dude Male L102 would be nice, dont need a 104 haha

    had a bad day

Dude dont feel bad if theres nothing you could have done to prevent it, its not your fault. I know its hard but its always the mistakes you know that you could have prevented that really get to you. I know coz i have lost a few plecs this way and I dont know if those species are even in the country anymore. Take it easy mate
  10. Haha nice one, atleast they recovered well, and now you got eggs, my trio had a few eggs day after you got yours off me and just had another lot last week so hopefully have a few survive, goodluck mate. Let me know how you go

    Banded Eel?

I havent seen them but they could also be called zig zag eels or zebra spiney eels
  12. Pretty limited with a tank that small, maybe bristlenose or some small whiptails. If you are intending to just breed catfish i would leave the other fish out but if breeding is just a bonus than yeah tetras etc are good with plecs Just a thought
  13. Just keep a tight fitting lid over the tank, then the kids will be fine Look up LDA25 or Parotocinclus jumbo
  14. Quite a few options there really, depends on how small you want 'small' to be and what you want to spend etc, also what pattern you want, what you want to keep them with blah blah blah... Hypans are good, stay smallish, king tigers, queen arabs....things like that Pitbulls stay really small and are quite cheap for a fancy plec.... Alot of other things get big but they take a long time to grow so will stay smallish for a long time, nuggets, snowballs, goldies and the smaller panaques are a nice size...if you can get your hands on them, everyone seems to have gone a bit nutty over those at the mo All are pretty easy to keep its just the price that put a lot of people off Hope that kinda helps
  15. I dont think its the fact these guys get eaten in the tank with the parents..i think they starve. The fry are useless at feeding themselves and pretty much have to be sitting on it before they start eating.
  16. Yeah royal whip covers a few sturisoma species, i have S. festivum, awesome looking fish, if the dorsal has a hook thats what they are. S.panamense have a straight dorsal, still nice looking fish though
  17. Weird stuff, my royal whips that havent bred for nearly a year just started laying again, I have a few fry that are 3 weeks old and they just spawned again last night. I have had sooo much trouble raising these things i just about gave up. I didnt have a single one survive from the last four spawns so hopefully get a few this time. Anyway power feed with veges, keep the water clean and well oxygenated and you're on the right track. Once they reach the 6 week stage your all good What type of sturisoma are they dude?

    Panduro Sex

    Looks female to me mate
  19. Could whack (pop) a few charge or silver bullets in there you reckon? Thanks Sharn, much appreciated
  20. Ok I have lost a few fish now and think i may have some sort of parasitic worm or something. Mainly lost tetras and a ram. They seem to get a pointy red thing sticking out their bum. When the ram died i cut him open and it definately looked like a red worm. Kinda freaking out as one of my apistos has kinda gone off her food and i dont wanna lose her. Any info, help, advice, diagnosis, treatment, whatever... would be much appreciated as i have just about had enough cheers guys Shane

    Big Tanks and MTS

    ????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Hey mate, go and have a look at Pet City (i think thats what its called) in Mt Gravatt just south of brizzy, awsome amount of fish etc. crammed into that shop. Prob be on the net or just look in a phone book when you get over there. Pretty easy to find. Have a good trip
  23. I wouldnt worry about it aye, give it atleast a week maybe two then start worrying about. I think you will find that one day you will walk past the tank and the he-she arowana will pretty much let you know its hungry, like it may follow you or come to the front of the tank etc. Hope that helps
  24. Awesome pics dude and nice looking fish well done. Pic of your royal with the gba's looks mean and the gold cloud is quite different for a plec. Again nice fish. Nice plecs aswell rcon, havent been down to see them and you in a while haha Big thumbs up guys
