I saw this awesome idea on a turtle forum, where they got some kind of spray paint and spray painted the bottom of the tank and it looked like sand, only without the sand. I'll try to find you a link tomorrow.

    Dulux make a product called AcraTex that sparays on and looks like sand.

    You used to be able to get stuff in small spray cans to decorate plant pots, I remember using it years ago. I am pretty sure we sprayed the back of my son's whitebait tank with it and it looked great.
