Fishman
Hi I am new to Guppies and wanted to know what is this strain called. I have heaps of fry from this male and I wanted to be sure what strain I have before moving them. Cheers

Peter McLeod
Sort of looks like a H/B leopard but red instead of yellow.
Fishman
Sorry about the picture its just hard to get a photo of them, always on the move. Will try next time. Thanks for the reply.
PENEJANE
sorry to burst ya bubble but I have heaps of these. They are just a normal guppy. Nothing flash if thats what you were expecting. Orange is a very dominant colour which is why I removed it from my breeding tank. That colour variant is probably one of the easiest to get with out going through the hassles of a complete breeding setup just to achive one colour strain. :bounce:
Peter McLeod
Might be hard to start a strain with but would be fun to try. H/B is dominant over snakeskin. Crossing a male snakeskin or cobra patern with a female dominant H/B gene is often a cross that is good for producing fish with some kind of patern in the tail but keeping the fish H/B (tuxceedo). Interesting that there are dots in the tail instead of lines. Might be worth a go if you have tankspace available.
shiuh
yea..i have a HB blue male that i am crossing with blonde cobra female. might be interesting to find out that the offspring will look like. the babies are just starting to colour up. would suspect the offspring will pretty much look like the father. Peter McLeod
Anything is worth a go. Even if all you find out that it dosn't work. Can only lead to knowledge. I always wanted to have a go at making a solid snakeskin. Never had the tankspace. Needed two stable lines of non H/B blue or red guppies and blue or red snakeskins to try it. alanmin4304
I bred them many years ago and bred only to females with no black in the tail. My friend used my rejects and bred to females with the most black and ended with a pure black strain.
Fishman
Yes, I have some juvenile female that are half black maybe I can have a pure black strain aswell if I continue line breeding this ones.
Peter McLeod
You could try using the male to make your own AOC line. Bit harder to work with than a pure colour, but could be fun.
