Marine in an AR-510?

I was going to ask this in my other post, but thought better of it!! :lol:

While at Jansens today, I saw an AR-510 with what looked like a clownfish & an anenome in it. Looked kind of bare, but I guess everything would grow in soon enough.

My question is - how long would you expect a tank that size (it's about 69L from memory) to last before running into problems?

Clownfish are about the only marine fish I'd be willing to keep, as I understand they're one of the few marine fish to breed in captivity??

There are quite a few marine fish that are bred commercially. But as far as I know, none of the captive bred ones are imported into NZ.

You can buy captive bred clownfish at Hollywoods in Auckland (both stores had em last time I was there). They're actually bred in New Zealand.

Will go a long time without problems if you have good skimming plus run a rowaphos reactor.

But having said that, seriously consider a bigger tank. - Trust me !

i agree 69L is pritty small for a marine

I refused to set up anythung smaller some ppl there wanted to use a 380 but the tank is doing incredibly well, it just needs some more stock

What kind of stock? more rock/coral etc?

Would the lights need to be changed at all?

My 2 false percs lived in a tank that size with an anemone plus a bunch of assorted corals for approx 2 years. They appeared very content, I think it was big enough.

However they never laid eggs till after a move to a bigger tank.

Remember that with only 69L how easy it is to tip the balance of the water chemistry of the scale.I agre with wasp to buy some good gear for piece of mind.
