Caryl
Why do you want to add salt?
clarkeymaster
Iv read somewhere that guppies refer to have salt into their tank.
livebearer_breeder
they like a bit of salt, yes. Shae
Caryl
It is not necessary though and many people keep guppies without using salt. If you are unsure about whether the other fish can tolerate it then leave it out.
Snowman
I've got over 100 guppies and never salted the tank and they breed fine. Are these in your 70 ltr tank?
livebearer_breeder
Ive got over 800 guppys, and salt them all, so it doesnt really matter too much. Shae
vapo
I know plecos and clown loaches don't tolerate salt well, so I'd assume similar would apply to the kuhlis and catfish. If everything's ok at the moment, why change it? Personally I wouldn't risk my other fish as guppies seem to do fine in freshwater. Cheers, Vapo. Faran
Shae, just cuz you eat your chips over the tanks DOESN'T mean you're salting the water
Snowman
Shae, do you have loaches and B/Nose in the salted tank with the guppies?
Ira
I've had plecos and bristleschnozzes in tanks that I've dosed with about 1 heaping tablespoon of salt per 5-10 liters and they didn't seem to have a problem with it.
