What do you clean the glass with?

Just wondering how everyone cleans the outside of their tank glass?

My tanks have kiss marks on them from my kiddies :lol:

i use some meths on a rag to keep mine looking sparkly and nice

a sctochbright sponge, make sure its one of the high density ones with no anti-bacterial stuff in it, just plain on coarse sponge, works a treat.

Can you use glass cleaning spray on the outside of the tank?

I use a wet cloth.

I use a cloth dampened with tank water, i wouldn't use normal window cleaner because either the chemicals or the fumes may end up in the water.

There is a product i have seen on Trade Me and at Hollywood that is tank safe aquarium cleaner, not the cheapest but neither is replacing fish.

I use glass cleaner on paper towel, spray it on the towel not the glass to avoid over spray into the tank.

I use either glass cleaner sprayed onto news[paper or just damp newspaper.

the paper menas you can elimate the fact of having that scungy ol rag leaving dust all over the nice clean glass :lol:

I just use a damp cloth and a dry one to clean off the outside of my tank. I never used anything else as everything I read said not to. Saw glass cleaner for the tank, but much cheaper to use damp cloth

I've always just used normal household window cleaner due to the fact my hood would not let any chemicals in, also gives it a shining effect and clears the view up good.

hello, a nice way and cheap way of cleaning the out side of the tank is with Brown Vinegar on newspaper as it doesn't normally streak the glass.

You may be thinking why Brown? It's because brown vinegar has a nicer smell and white for some reason streaks. And a bottle of Vinegar last longer then the Household cleaners.

Vinegar is good to clean glass with. I use glass cleaner spray and a cloth, or paper towel.
