We're wondering what these fish are - apparently given to someone with no name (they were also told "they are definitely all female"). Apparently the fish have not shown any other colours/markings other than what's in the pic. I'm leaning towards a Rasbora sp, both Rasbora paviana and Rasbora dorsinotata look very similar but aren't on the list. Does anyone know whether they're in the country at all? (sorry for the poor pics)

It looks exactly almost like it but yeah, it's not on the list (so if that's correct it was most likely imported under a different name). I had a small list of possibilities but no exact matches

Rasbora:

Rasbora argyrotaenia, Rasbora cephalotaenia, Rasbora daniconius, Rasbora einthovenii

Barbs:

Esomus danricus

If any species of fish is not on The List then it has not been approved, by MPI, as a species that is currently allowed in the country.

Just because a fish is not on the current list does not mean it has never been on it. There are species in the country, including goldfish, that came in many years ago and are still in existence. Just like fish that are on the list, that doesn't mean they are here or will ever come here, it just means they are allowed in.
