Just wondering if anyone on here is into hunting?

I go out for possums or deer and pigs whenever I can.

i am. hunting ducks this time of year and keen on possum, rabbit and goat shooting as well. I enjoy getting out in the country and roaming around.

used to go pig hunting with some maori mates and their dogs. no guns, just knives and dogs. was great fun. felt like a native. we got some massive boars. not interested in deer. venison is yuck. and i love red meat.

Obviously you just have had it cooked badly because NO ONE cannot like venison

cooked it myself - impossible that it was cooked badly.

it's just too rich for me. makes the house smell bad for a day or so as well.

plus, deer are disgusting animals. like overgrown rats. they hiss. hissssss.

like to dabble in real hunting when the chance arises too. which seems like never these days but working on that.

only seen a few goats up here but haven't gone that of the track.

Goats are good for target practice. Also make a really good stew. I do NOT recommend wrapping a slice of goat in tinfoil and cooking it on the fire, comes out very tough haha

Did you get many ducks this season?

not big numbers, about a dozen of mallard and parrie this season but i just head across the road onto the farm for an hour or two at a time.

got none opening day as we had a shooter near us that would shoot at birds heading our way so everything was at 1,000 feet all day.

how have you done?

Been so flat out at work I didnt actually get to go out at all for ducks. Sucks so much

Going out for a couple overnighters in a fortnight or so for hopefully a Deer. Need to restock the freezer with some vension.

Im been in to tramping and hunting since i was a young falla- hunting more so as i got older and wanted the challenge. Hunt mostly Sika in the Kaimaniwas and Kawekas. Sometimes hunt with a video camera only. Although not so often these days with a young family.

Haven't been out since Easter unfortunately. And i probably wont get out till Around the end of the year if im lucky. I play footy every weekend and we have a new baby due in a couple of weeks.
