How long does it take for a BN to show signs of the longfin gene?

I put my male longfin in with a female that has the albino gene ( thanks G.Eagle) trying to make myself some longfin albino. They sucsessfuly spwaned last week, some albino some brown as expected.

But how long or what signs are there to tell longfin.

thanks

OK, so from the new offspring your saying that they will all carry, the longfin, albino and brown gene?

And from here I have to breed the offspring to get out the longfin gene?

If this is so, do I breed from the albinos that came out or the browns or a mix? or does it not matter?

Breeding 2 of the albino offspring together will give you the best odd's of what you're trying to achieve. The genes in each will be Dominant albino + Dominant albino with brown recessed genes this will give you albino and brown in the first breeding, and Dominant shortfin recessed longfin, this will give you some shortfin and some longfin. From there you continue selecting the best of the quality your after.

Sweeet, thanks. I think I understand that. :dnc1:

Looks like this project got much more technical than I had initialy thought it would be.

And it will take you about 18-24 months to complete :bggrn:

About the time you need a change those L200 will be here (hopefully)
