alanmin4304 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Share Posted July 8, 2012 We have a commercial breeder here who has 4 foot tanks across a 2 foot stand so there is a foot each side not supported at all. Lost a lot of tanks during the quakes but has since glued the tanks to the stands and it has gone through a couple of fives with only loss of water. I had a friend who had an import business with large tanks on 50 mm round pipe stands will poly between and no other support and never had a problem---before the shakes. I am a bit paranoid and had my tanks fully supported on 25mm shelving on steel stands fully supported. You pays the money and takes your pick.
