anthony law
sound likes it was a dogge ship as they got in trouble in oz..now they in our waters.. they should unload the ship pump all the oils out into anthor ship..etc ..and sink it...with the captin aboard.. :an!gry :an!gry :an!gry
phoenix44
It's in NZ waters. Not the captain's fault. Where was the pilot?
amtiskaw
Pilots only take them out of the harbour, Astrolabe's about 15 km from the Mount. Been diving and fishing there a few times - it's quite freaky seeing breaking waves out in the middle of nowhere... I hope there's no pollution :an!gry Edit: Found a channel/pilot guide here I went out on the tugs a few times a while back - my mate's dad was deputy harbour master - pretty scary at night in a big swell, but good fun too 8)
phoenix44
Pilots take ships in and out. My dad is both a captain and a pilot (though not at the same time obviously  ). If there was a pilot on board, which there should have been - the ship gets signed off to him.
livingart
the ship was way of its plotted course
