flatfish
My money would be on a very nicely patterned goldspot (Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus, L001, L022)

flatfish
I still reckon its a goldspot. Its a very nicely patterned one but their pattern does vary a fair bit and it changes as the fish grows. Its got a hump on the top of the head, in front of the dorsal (top) fin and a stocky build which makes it a member of the ‘P. gibbiceps group’ (sometimes called Glyptoperichthys) which includes red spots and gold spots. Gold spots (Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus, L001, L022) are a dark brown pleco covered with golden spots, which often merge on the body to form irregular lines. Red spots (Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps, L083, L165) are pale brown/yellowish pleco covered with irregular large brown spots separated by a thin margin giving a honeycombed appearance. Common plecos (there are likely three species sold under that name in New Zealand although the common one is Pterygoplichthys pardalis, L021, L023) are much more slender and dont have the hump. myfishybuisness
Price depends on who wants it at the time very true
flatfish
i would say $20-$30 max, because of there size I agree but goodluck and you may get more. They are a great looking pleco but you need a fairly big tank for the larger ones.
