D-Hawk
hi I have managed to persuade my libary teacher to use her water feature as a gigantic catfish pond thing. I am bringing in a heater and pump next week, tomorrow I am checking ph ammonia etc. I was wondering what kind of catfish to do? the pond is 2metres square and a metre deep. I have thought of plecos but my mum said to chose something colourful??? thanks

skippy_49nz
The problem with most catfish is they want to hide away a lot of the time so you might not see them, especially looking from above.
ryanjury
Is there going to be any viewing access from the side? A pleco isn't going to be the most effective use of a pond..
Joe
What about Golden Nuggets? They'd stand out nicely in a pond They don't grow as big as what you're after, but I still reckon it's worth a shot
Fruju
gonna need a big heater, will be expensive for her to run. redspot pleco is your best bet or just common.
Insect Direct
could put some turtles in there, would be a good place to educate people about the proper care
firenzenz
Yeah -the first heating bill for a 4000ltr 'pond thing' is going make Goldfish look pretty good. Get some shubs, fantails etc-at least they will be seen and have some interaction with people and the whole project will have some "shelf" life. Turtles too- but could be expensive to set up
