BikBok
this is strange. My son just set up a new hotmail address because he's doing computers at school and his teacher requires an email that is different to the parents. The school then keeps both parties up to date with progress for ICDL (computer drivers license lol) which is in addition to the L2 NCEA content. He needs to send the teacher an email from his own address with his tutor class and subject code. SO anyway, he composes the message to his teacher and hits send ...... but then got the following error messages.. * Error: "We've noticed some unusual activity in your Hotmail account" * Error: "Your message seems to have triggered our junk e-mail filters" * Error: "Your account has been temporarily blocked" the original message is sitting in drafts now, unsent. then we're supposed to verify by giving them a mobile no.. which it wouldn't recognise.. so now what? Why on earth did it get blocked in the first place. I find this rather strange and frustrating.
Joshlikesfish
Is the website actually "www.hotmail.com" and not "www.hotnail.com"? I once miss typed the website for a video game I played and my screen was spammed with inappropriate pictures  Its a common method used by scam artists etc from what i've seen
Stella
seriously, gmail is utterly awesome. I made the switch last year and am very impressed with it. forget hotmail 8)
ryanjury
Sounds like something in the course details or message that was written resembled spam so got blocked.. I would try another provider, gmail or yahoo etc and see how you get on..
BikBok
might give gmail a go if I can't get this re solved.. I didn't realise anyone could use gmail, I thought you had to be invited. Anyway I cocntacted live support and they eventually got back to me and said we had to reset the password... but when we tried that it went round and round in circles .. kept ending back up on the first page where it asks for security question (which hasn't been set up yet) or "support" .. which sends to a page to provide an alternate email.. which then goes back to the first page..agggggggghhhh

Stella
Have a poke through the settings, there are some really useful ones. also in the 'labs' section (a bit like firefox add-ons) get the 'undo send' one. You know all those times that you hit send then immediately realise you sent it to the wrong person or did something equally as dumb? With this add-on after you hit send gmail 'holds' the email for a set number of seconds, during which time if you  you can retrieve the message without  :happy2: I think there is also one for if you use the word attach/attachment etc, but don't include one, it will ask you if you meant to! phoenix44
lol. There goes the award for the most appropriate use of the  and  respectively.

blueether
I would also say use gmail He needs to send the teacher an email from his own address with his tutor class and subject code. So something like: Mr Smith Class 17c subject 5636 This is to confirm that I can send an email to you, Mr Smith. I look foreward to to your reply BikBok's little boy. I cant see why that would hit any spam filters

Does anyone know how useful the ICDL (International computer driver license) is in the real world?
