i just realised i actually own a jager! i've had a large heater for a few years that came with a complete set up. its 300w so really big, it wouldn't have fitted in the tank i needed to buy a heater for today. it would fit in my main tank though if the jebo fails. would anyone be able to explain the temperature setting on it please? it has numbers 1-9.

Thats one of the older jagers. I have one but I have never used it

it has numbers 1-9.

1 is cold, 9 is hot. See where the temperature settles and adjust from there. That's what you have to do with just about all heaters, they just didn't BS people that the temperature on the side is anything other than an extremely vague approximation.

that jager is likely to be 10 years old or more, there have been a few of those floating around recently. I know a guy up here that has one, Sam sold one recently so there are a few working examples around & that must be great advertising for the quality of them. 8)

jagers are the only way to go. Cheap but i have never had one fail that i personally bought brand new myself.

cheapest i would go is aqua one. best value for money but jagers are good.

also they keep temps tighter - thermostats are better than cheaper chinese ones.
