November 16, 201015 yr comment_405611 yeah sorry got them wrong way around  Just checking that it wasn't the reason you got marked wrong on it :-? Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405612 You cold try using this, though I guess it would be kinda cheating..... http://www.theaquatools.com/building-your-aquarium Wow, theres another really cool tool there, the Aquarium sketcher....I'm gonna have a play with that one tonight!!!!!! Report
November 16, 201015 yr Author comment_405653 ok this is the answer i got for the second question the full capacity of an aquarium that is 600mm x 300mm x 300mm volume= 51.86 litres empty weight= 5kg approx total weight= 56 kg is it correct ? thanks Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405675 volume: is 0.25m3/250L overall (outside of tank panels), for actual litres you will need to deduct the glass thickness. I'm betting that's the problem - the math teacher will be expecting the volume on paper, not the actual weight/volume. The fact that it's a fish tank is just a way of saying "here is a 3d object of these dimensions, what is the volume" Report
November 16, 201015 yr Author comment_405680 ok i think i have it sussed but what glass thickness should i put for the 1000x500x500 tank? thank you so much everyone i know im being super annoying Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405683 ok i think i have it sussed but what glass thickness should i put for the 1000x500x500 tank? 10mm, depends on bracing too. Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405688 i did 10mm the first time and got it wrong My 1200x400x400 is in 6mm. Could be 6 or 8? Report
November 16, 201015 yr Author comment_405689 il try that when the calculater ask for the water height what shall i put? Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405697 These all seem like very strange questions. Some of them can have different answers based on different factors. These questions need more detail and/or a less close answer required. If that makes sense? Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405698 What year level are you in? Are you sure they even want to know the glass info? Maybe empty weight = 0, full weight = weight of water only?? Make sure you put in all your workings, how you did the calculations. They want to see that you understand what you're doing, not just using a calculator on a website. Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405699 As long as you show all your working out (and your maths is correct), there shouldn't be any wrong answers. If they dont specify the details use your best idea, just let them know what you are doing at every step of the calculation. Report
November 16, 201015 yr comment_405721 you may well also add that as no thickness was specified, you have used a recomended thickness of ** as recomended by the FNZAS Report
November 16, 201015 yr Author comment_405734 im in year 12 and thats a good idea about the recomended thickness should i put a thickness of 8mm? Report
November 17, 201015 yr Author comment_405933 i got an extension till 3pm for the 1metre x 500mm x 500mm one i put a thickness of 8mm and the tank calculater said tank height to short for glass thickness what does this mean? also i am unsure what to put for the water level so i put 470mm? would that be correct thanks Report
November 18, 201015 yr comment_405957 calculater said tank height to short for glass thickness what does this mean? That your glass is too thick. Report
