Adrienne
I took the plunge a few weeks ago and purchased some shellies from Ryanjury. I'll never regret it. They are amazing little fish, full of energy and with great character. Easy to keep as well. Heres a few pics. I've got 10 in a 3 ft, 220 litre tank. They are feisty little creatures and delightful to watch. I only wish I could fit that tank in the house as well.

Adrienne
Shells are from Nosh opposite Countdown, Greenlane. $25 for 48 shells, you can't get a smaller number however I do have a few spare!

bdspider
Do they have to be kept in species only tanks?
Adrienne
I've seen them in mixed tanks in the lfs but the common answer from those who know best is that they are better in a species only tank. They are extremely feisty.
smidey
nice pics & fish! i think they could be good tank mates for tangs like tropheus. tropheus seem to stick to them selves which is goos, they don't hassle my altos so i think i'll give them a go in my new tank. ryanjury
Awesome fish, I am glad they are going well for you There will be more for sale in the next few months if anyone else wants any I have mine in with tropheus, azuzures, peacocks, columbian tetras and bristlenoses at the moment and there are no issues, the shellies tend to be aggressive around their shells and the other fish like to inhabit other areas of the water so it works out well. I think the major issue with tank mates and mixing them with malawis is choosing something that wont eat them..
