I like to drag out the entire process as much as possible and try and wear down the other bidders. I've got some special techniques that allow me to reliably bid within the last few seconds, so I take full advantage of that. Just the other day I stretched out an auction by 45 minutes by bidding this way. Won the watch for much less than it was worth - easy as!
