blueyes
They do that, I hardly ever see mine at all unless I am home during the day/early morning which seems to be when they sneak out.....when I moved everyone into the larger tank that they are in now I saw one that had jammed itself into a tiny crevice of the piece of driftwood that my albino bn calls home, didn't even move when I picked up the driftwood.....they like to cram themselves into the tiniest of spaces...... If you take the piece of wood out, it will no doubt only find somewhere else to hide in I would imagine
phoenix44
you realise everytime you take the wood out the tank, when he is in there, you are only increasing his chances of getting stuck permanently? If he can come out on his own, he is not stuck. Leave him be, and when he comes out, the the wood out.
ryanjury
Yeah they tend to lock themselves in places so a bit hard to get them out, if you really want to get him out I would probably position the wood so the opening of his hole is just at the end of the water so when he does come out he will go down to the bottom of the tank and hopefully not be able to swim straight back in there.. Do you have a group of clowns or just the one? They are typically quite out going when they are kept in groups.

Joshlikesfish
Do u think I could just put the log in the new tank? He could suffer pH and temperature shock
Aquila
I have the exact same problem. I inherited a clownloach with a tank purchase off TradeMe which I intended to sell but I haven't been able to catch the bugger. So now he is stuck in a 200L community tank...alone....for the rest of his life.
trav
I put in stress coat yesterday ? Won't that help ? Or shall I just temperaturise the 6 others and put them I the tank? And wait till he comes ou the log?
SamH
Please, in future use the macro. All I see is a shiny blur, macro would bring that right into focus. Thanks.
Adrienne
Not sure how big the piece of wood is but how about taking it out and putting it into a container. Then bring the temperature up to the new tank temp by adding some of the new tank water and once sorted place the wood and clown loach into it. Joshlikesfish
Put some of your cycled media from your old filter into your new filter. Makes it easier on the bio load
