Joe
what about a school of neon dwarf rainbows they look great as a group? Gouramis don't school. Ther're sort of all over the place, rather than sticking together in a group.

As waterlogged said, they're Neon Dwarf Rainbow fish as opposed to Neon Dwarf Gouramis.
Joe
Oh woops sorry, I misread that piece  Dwarf Neon Rainbows are really cool too, and they will look nice with the Pseudomugil furcartus, so you can get both if you want

the-obstacle
Emerald eyes are pretty cool. My fav would be the mosquito rasboras though. Conchu Blue tetras are really nice, but more expensive. Hey P44 - I thought they were the one for me too but I spotted them in HFF this afternoon and they're nowhere near as colourful / awesome as I remember them looking in photos. Their colour is really subtle which I suspect could be enhanced with the right light (a bit of blue and a bit more red). Do you reckon they colour up as they get bigger / older? phoenix44
Conchu blues colour up a lot in a nice tank with plants. You need a decent number of them though or else they will fin nip

I thought he disappeared after that scandal at the aquarium. Louie: Hey, I thought you said Troy McClure was dead. Tony: No, what I said was: "He sleeps with the fishes". You see… Louie: Uh, Tony, please, no. I just ate a whole plate of dingamagoo…

Jennifer
Hatchets don't school very well unless you have a big group and then they look fantastic. In smaller numbers they tend to pick on each other but they still are very cool. If you are looking for a smaller fish, I would recommend dwarf Tinwini danios. They shoal very well and the males colour up with red fins. I find them much more dynamic than many tetras that are more timid in their schooling behaviour. Unlike many tetras and rasboras Tinwini danios are always at the front of the tank. They are also very active and hardy.
waterlogged
with the danios how do the react with ither fish? i have had little experence with them and have found danios to be more aggressive than tetras
