kragura
Sorry :-) probably should give some more info. I live in Wanganui we don't have a large pet shop here and I was hoping to find an online breeder or even someone who knows how to import animals on here ideally I'm looking at a Russian tortoise or another small breed. SamH
You will find that the reptile and amphibian trade is very limited here in New Zealand. Although maybe one of the more specialized members could help you there.

Caryl
DonnaM is our turtle expert. I think she says a 4ft tank minimum (250L+) for 1 red ear and preferably outside in a pond when adult size. We have heard of lots of species, like box turtles, just can't get them here

kragura
Ah okey dokey Iv'e been looking on there and it seem there going for a good price.
phoenix44
I'd recommend reading about them before you buy one first. There is a care sheet in the reptile section. Also, a beardy and a BT will need a 4ft tank as well, so assuming a 4ft tank is a limiting factor for you; you might have to rethink on that front as well. repto
you can get boxturtles here.Three toed boxturtles are the main species around.A few florida bowes and the odd eastern box,the price is alos high because of the lack of availability. kragura
No need to worry about me caring for a BD I've been studying them for a while, but box turtles, well their practically a tortoise right? and are they cheaper because I can't really afford a $3000 pet.
