Nymox
While collecting more water today I came across some rocks with anemones attached, into the bucket they went along with the rocks and now they are in a tank. Colour is much much more vibrant then the photo makes out, they are very beautiful.

Nymox
They're moving around a lot, changing positions, of course they are all heading towards the back on the rear facing side of the rocks, Murphy had a word to them about his laws while I was out it seems. I guess I'll just leave them and see what happens, not expecting a heck of a lot though as the system is no where near cycled. They are gunna look great with a few types of jewels in there too, there is so much colour with local marine it still amazes me. I cant wait for the tank to be cycled, squilla armata! Caryl
Those little red anemones are common along the Kaikoura coast and I had them in my cold water marine too. A lovely little anemone.
alanmin4304
I kept tham for a coupleof years and they also came from Kaikoura. If I remember correctly they have a purple center.
Nymox
These are like a deep rich crimson with bright red insides/tentacles. I only have one left at the front of the tank, they all retreated to the back side perhaps the flow is better for them there. On the rocks they came with there are some barnacles, quite neat watching the delicate inside fan for particles of food.
puttputt
Very common all around the coasts, one of the commonest, and as LA says they are good stingers and can become a pest if the start to spread. Beaut colours though!

rong
Watch out for baby anemonies after you have fed them up for a while - they pop out of the mouth in the middle.
