phoenix44
Good things take time! I'd suggest adding CO2 but that would be a futile attempt in your tank. If the plants are happy and don't need more light, just let the grow. There isn't much more you can do. Get PMDD from hans, but still its all going to be waterchanged out any how. henward
yeah, was thinking getting seachem foourisha nd excell but really, the system changes 350 litres per day. so really, what i put in will be use less. thats ok, i will let it grow:D im impatient, thsi will be a test of my virtue haha
Morcs
Val will definately do well. It gets its co2 differently to other plants (cant remember how though), and straight val on its own en masse can quite easily give you the jungle effect - especially when it grows so long that it starts blocking up the surface - which the discus will love. Adrienne
Ignore the comment about straight val Henward - its a banned organism.
henward
not straight val, besides, why is it bganned?
Skip™
Invasive pest plant.
Adrienne
Grows in cold water as well as tropical tanks, is invasive and some of it grows to a metre in length. Also known as eel grass.
henward
oh thats annoying well.... its so commonly available, well was
Adrienne
Yes, well it is, in vast unwanted quantities  . The trouble is that it wouldn't have been banned if people had not just chucked it out but disposed of it properly when it got too big for their tanks. However the other val you have - imo - looks really good and is a much easier to control plant. diver21
its a great start. just let things grow and every now and then add another plant in there. took me a while to get my tank to be that jungle look.
phoenix44
You need stem plants; maybe more driftwood.
Sophia
it's nice, thanks for the photos like mine, looking forward to it growing... I've been feeding mine a dose of flourish comp every day and it's doing it's thing with all but the slow growers. I got 3 pieces of cabomba last Friday and they've already grown about 4cm to touch the top of the water
alanmin4304
You will find that some of your Echinodorus sp. will grow rank as they get bigger and you may only see the stalks in the tank (marble queen is a varigated cordifolius and argentiniensus will get pretty big as well). To get the effect of straight Val see if you can get hold of an Echinodorus uraguyensis as it looks a lot like Val and will not go into an emersed form (legal as well).
