phoenix44
Thanks! Those new fluval CO2 kits are a bit blingy for my liking, and are lacking in substance IMO. I'd want a cannister to be more than 88gm personally. Diffusers seem fine. ADA ones are good as are the GLA ones - cost a bomb though. For pressurised systems the Rhinox range are pretty good value for money, and really good.
Joe
I had a look at GLA Diffusers a week ago and they look very similar to ADA and are way cheaper, but they look nicer than Rhinox. If I get pressurized CO2 I know what diffuser I'm getting
phoenix44
The GLA and Rhinox ones are exactly the same Joe..

phoenix44
Today I went to do some stuff and landed up at the LFS   . Saw some spotted head-standers and now I want to add 6 of them in here. Very tempting! Apart from that I trimmed and replanted some stalks and added loads of ferts to the tank, and now the discus want to breed. Cories bred as I added the new water to the tank :happy2: That means that the hypans get to eat some fresh eggs! :dunno:
Joe
Get the headstanders :bounce: It can be a Christmas present to yourself

phoenix44
Another week has gone by! CO2 bubbles! Tiger Lotus trained to stay low - Rotala rotundifolia among the green and wood.
Jennifer
The extra iron is helping a lot with those reds and I can see that the nitrates are doing their thing. If you start to see green spot add more phosphate.
phoenix44
Only just got the nitrate yesterday. So will start dosing it this week. I'm just afraid that the plants will outgrow the tank (particularly that sword plant). After adding my trace I no longer get that green algae on the front of the glass that grows when the tank basks in morning sunlight.
Joe
WOW This tank is AWESOME :happy1: BTW you need to add some Bolbitis heudelotii and Cyperus helferi I love the Echinodorus Red Rose x Ozelot. Mine is doing very well.
Trilobite
That is an amazing tank!

Flourish comprehensive has a small amount of nitrates in it, and phosphates - so that is probably why your green algae is going.
phoenix44
I'm trialling my ferts remember? Haven't used any ferts except for what I've told you about since we corresponded last week.
Jennifer
You were using Flourish Comp a week ago...right? Anyway, do a test and tell me what the nitrate levels are in there would ya?
