Poor guy, I know the feeling. I am missing my birthday party just so I can go to conference this year. :roll:

If it makes you feel any better, I went to a bird show once here and it was a lot of budgies and canaries...not that I have anything against them but I was really hoping to see some 'real' birds! 8)

Budgies, canarys, parrots, finches, Brittish and foreign birds for display.

Just like fish shows really isnt it

real fish like marlin and Killi fish :lol:

Now it just happens that the Killi club has its show at Napier again on the weekend of10th and 11th April

can't make it! i have my grad ceremony on the 10th of April.

go to the fielding bird sale on the 18th april ,you can buy the birds or just have a look,biggest bestest sale in the country.fielding civic centre just across from mcdonalds.

I second that. I went a few years ago and was amazed at what was there.

Horticultural Centre,

South Hagley Park,

Riccarton Avenue,

Christchurch.

Open to the public 2pm to 5.30pm Saturday & 9am to 3pm Sunday

Entries close Sunday 16th May 2010

I suspect there will be mostly budgies and canarys there though.
